     John Francis Donaldson, Baron Donaldson of Lymington was born on 6 October 1920.2 He was the son of Malcolm Donaldson and Evelyn Helen Marguerite Gilroy.3 He married Dame Dorothy Mary Warwick, daughter of Reginald George Gale Warwick and Dorothy Alice (?), in 1945.2 He died on 31 August 2005 at age 84.1
