     Edith Frances Powell was born in June 1866 at Penzance, Cornwall, England.2 She was the daughter of Reverend Edward James Powell and Martha Bower Smith.1,2 She married James Minchin Bruce, son of Rear-Admiral James Minchin Bruce and Elizabeth Lucas Hill, on 1 August 1889 at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.1,2 She died on 6 August 1948 at age 82 at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.2
     From 1 August 1889, her married name became Bruce.

     Minnie Ethelwynne Bruce was born on 5 October 1889 at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.1,2 She was the daughter of James Minchin Bruce and Edith Frances Powell.1 She married Hubert Milton Johnstone, son of William Downs Johnstone and Louisa Therza Warren, in 1915 at Ashfield, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.2 She died on 30 September 1972 at age 82 at Kogarah, New South Wales, Australia.2
     From 1915, her married name became Johnstone.2
