As cool as its subject matter, François Ozon's twisty little thriller deposits novelist Charlotte Rampling in her publisher's French chateau, an idyllic hideout for peace contemplation and work - until the unexpected arrival of his teenage daughter (Ludivine Sagnier), a proponent of nude bathing and loud shagging of a variety of locals.
Rampling turns her froideur up to the max and this is a two-hander with a nice mix of hostility and complicity as events take a surprising turn with a nod to Les Diaboliques. It's not in the class of Clouzot's classic, but gives you an enigmatic ending to discuss.
