Inherited from Early Assamese -অক (-oko), from a derivative of Sanskrit কৃ (kṛ, “to do”). Cognate with Bengali -ক (-k).

1. marks the accusative case for animate objects: to

   মেকুৰীটোৱে নিগনিটোক খালে। ― mekuritüe nigonitük khale. ― The cat ate the mouse.

   বাঘটোৱে তাক এঘণ্টালৈ খেদিলে। ― baghtüe tak eghontaloi khedile. ― The leopard chased him for an hour.

2. marks the dative case in some cases: to

   মোৰ ভাইটিক পানী অলপ দিয়ক। ― mür bhaitik pani olop diok. ― Please give some water to my elder brother.

3. (Central Assam, Kamrupi) marks the dative case2 in all cases, also marks the accusative case of animate objects.
