The 40 Kearny-Jersey Gardens is a bus route operated by New Jersey Transit in the U.S. state of New Jersey.
Buses head north from North Arlington Loop in North Arlington along Davis Avenue, Elm Street, Belleville Turnpike, Harrison Avenue, Frank E. Rodgers Boulevard, Raymond Boulevard, Broad Street, Market Street, South Street, Port Newark, Corbin Street, Marsh Street and Tyler Street to Jersey Gardens in Elizabeth via Kearny, North Arlington, Harrison, Harrison PATH Station, Newark, Port Newark, and Elizabeth.[1]
The route began under PSCT (Public Service Coordinated Transport) in 1924. NJ Transit later took over the route.[citation needed]
