2KTcO₄ + 7H₂S + 2HCl → Tc₂S₇↓ + 2KCl + 8H₂O

2NH₄TcO₄ + 7H₂S + 2HCl → Tc₂S₇↓ + 2NH₄Cl + 8H₂O

It is restored by hydrogen at 1000 °C:

Tc₂S₇ + 7H₂ → 2Tc + 7H₂S
