the name came from a combination of the qualities that we wanted to bring across… And it was sort of a portmanteau or some kind of a mashing together of "heroic" and "haiku". And haiku, again, reflected Ruby’s Japanese origins, the fact that it was a very succinct language, very elegant, or from our perspective elegant, beautiful language, in the sense of how it looks on page, so to speak. And then the heroic side - this has often been misinterpreted; there was so many articles on “Heroku’s trying to be a hero”, or something of that nature. But our view is we want to make a product that makes you a hero. (English)
