I need to add a Latin label to {{qla|3388166}}. I tried adding the babel code to my user page and activating the labellister, but I still cannot add a Latin label. --[[User:Jfhutson|Jfhutson]] ([[User talk:Jfhutson|<span class="signature-talk">{{int:Talkpagelinktext}}</span>]]) 16:11, 19 May 2016 (UTC) |

I need to add a Latin label to Petrum Pernam(3388166). I tried adding the babel code to my user page and activating the labellister, but I still cannot add a Latin label. --Jfhutson (talk) 16:11, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
- I see you figured it out and added the label in Old revision of Q3388166, so I won't ping you in this reply (but if you see it anyway, it might be good to add a description also!)... for others' edification, the babel codes are merely for the benefit of other human editors on Wikidata and don't grant access to editing rights for items; administrative restrictions aside, everyone can edit the labels, descriptions and aliases for an item in any available language. A handy form is available for doing this: in your example, one could follow this link -- Special:SetLabelDescriptionAliases/Q3388166/la -- in other cases the Q-number and language code would of course be different. - There's also the LabelLister gadget (which can be enabled in preferences). The "new" version (which you can switch to in the gadget itself) supports adding and changing all languages. --Pokechu22 (talk) 18:27, 15 January 2022 (UTC)

How can I add and remove which languages are listed in the red frame in this picture? I have looked in "Preferences" and "More language settings". --Bensin (talk) 12:05, 29 October 2017 (UTC)
- I have more languages displayed to me than I'd like. I want to select and deselect which languages are presented to me (and then click "All entered languages" to see all on the item pages). Any help here is appreciated. --Bensin (talk) 19:56, 13 July 2019 (UTC)
- This was (sort of) resolved by this. --Bensin (talk) 22:56, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

The help for "configure languages" (for multilingual descriptions) goes directly to Help:Navigating_Wikidata/User_Options#Babel_extension, and in that section it says users instead of logged-in users. I've tested the configuration|procedure, and apparently it doesn't work without login. Please update…

Where are the 4 fallback languages for the "In more languages" section defined?
They seem to be based on one's IP address location. --Iketsi (talk) 18:18, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
