In 1899, Giovanni Agnelli and a tight-knit group of Turinese aristocrats and professionals founded FIAT: Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino. The company's wide-ranging production spanned planes, trains, trucks and buses, but most of all cars: with its AlfaRomeo, Lancia, Maserati and Abarth brands, the company gave Italians freedom and mobility. Models which marked an epoch and a long industrial journey which culminated in the formation of the multinational automotive company FCA.
