Remarks & Notes |
On the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the Kiruna (Sweden) to Narvik (Norway) ore railroad, which was opened in 1902, the Swedish Railway Museum in Gävle, together with the mining company LKAB, organized a multi-day event in Kiruna and on the Swedish part of the ore railroad line. On 3 days, the 0-10-0 steam locomotive R # 976, built in 1909, pulled a passenger train several times around Lake Luossajärvi and through the mining company's railroad facilities. The about 20 minutes ride was free and open to everyone without formalities. The train left Kiruna station short time ago and reached the shore of the Lake. This was the last ride at 01 PM on the third day. |
