What to Know

Critics Consensus

Ryan Reynolds makes himself at home in the MCU with acerbic wit while Hugh Jackman provides an Adamantium backbone to proceedings in Deadpool & Wolverine, an irreverent romp with a surprising soft spot for a bygone era of superhero movies.

Proving that Marvel can poke fun at itself, Deadpool & Wolverine is chock-full of deep-cut cameos and Easter eggs while also having a lot of heart.

Philip De Semlyen Time Out Cumbersome plotting aside, there’s enough gory mayhem and genuine zingers to make Deadpool & Wolverine a fun ride in a packed and up-for-it cinema. Rated: 3/5 Sep 11, 2024 Full Review Stephen Romei The Australian It’s amusing at times, especially for fans of the MCU as several Marvel superhero movie stars pop up in cameo roles... Aug 7, 2024 Full Review David Jenkins Little White Lies Some of the jokes land through sheer volume and force of will, but it feels like you have to endure 40-or-so rectal stabbings for a single juicy zinger. Rated: 2/5 Aug 7, 2024 Full Review Gavin Spoors Mediaversity Reviews The queer-coded material in Deadpool & Wolverine is played for laughs and comes off as homophobic. Rated: F Jan 5, 2025 Full Review Francesca Steele iNews.co.uk If it doesn’t quite feel like a reset for Marvel, the film’s persistent self-awareness nonetheless feels like a love letter to superheroes. Rated: 4/5 Dec 10, 2024 Full Review Noah Berlatsky Everything is Horrible (Substack) Rather than a smart send-up, the movie functions as a dreary distillation of the worst excesses of the MCU and its apparently endless offshoots. matt Good movie and it was a long movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/08/25 Full Review movierater I saw a lot of people say that this movie saved marvel and while it’s better then a lot of the recent Marvel movies this movie still lacks and a lot of depth. It seems to lie too much on cameos to grab peoples attention or grab the nostalgia value of older marvel fans. The villain for being as powerful as she was felt like she wasn’t even the focal point of the movie at times, which I feel like it’s a problem for a superhero movie. I’m a believer that a movie is only as good as its villain and how that villain is portrayed on screen and I think this movie lacked in that regard. that is to say I still enjoyed this movie. It was still really funny and as long as you’re not expecting the best superhero movie in the world and you just wanna see a good action pack movie that’s funny and provides laughs and gives you surprise characters you weren’t expecting than I think this is a good movie for you. but overall, there are plenty of better marvel movies but I feel like for a Deadpool movie this was pretty good. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/04/25 Full Review nice great movie silly and funny Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/03/25 Full Review Michael Not as good as the first two Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/02/25 Full Review Brandon S Second greatest movie I’ve ever seen Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/30/24 Full Review Charles D Just what the fans wanted.
