Prof. Dr. Stefan Minner
Academic Career and Research Areas
The research activities of Prof. Minner (*1969) deal with the design and optimization of global logistics networks under uncertainty using data-driven optimization. In this context, methods for decision support in the areas of inventory management, transportation and urban logistics as well as methods for strategic logistics planning are developed.
After studying business administration at the University of Bielefeld, Prof. Minner received his doctorate from the University of Magdeburg in 1999. He then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Calgary and habilitated in 2003. In 2004, he took over the Chair of General Business Administration and Logistics at the University of Mannheim. In 2008, he moved to the Chair of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University of Vienna and has been a full professor at TUM since 2012 and a member of the Munich Data Science Institute (MDSI) since 2021. Prof. Minner is editor of the International Journal of Production Economics and Sustainable Manufacturing and Service Economics, vice chairman of the scientific advisory board of the German Logistics Association and member of the research advisory board of the European Logistics Association.
