Even then some people avoid bitter gourd due to bitterness. Here is the recipe which I cooked with less oil and less ingredients. It has garlic flavour.

  • Boil bitter gourd, tomato, green chillies, garlic and onion. After then chop and keep separate the bitter gourd.

  • Then peel off tomato, garlic and onion. Make a paste with boiled tomato, garlic, onion and green chillies. Then add turmeric powder, cumin powder and coriander powder.

  • Now heat a pan add oil and saute the bitter gourd. Then add the boiled mixed paste and stir-fry. Let cook for a few minutes. Finally sprinkle with cottage cheese (chena).

  • Serve with rice, chapati or whatever you want. After boiling thy bitterness of karela will be reduced.
