Road Signs of Long Past Destinations

I grew up in the 1950s and 60s, when I could fill the tank of my Mustang at the Tenneco for three dollars. A time when neon glowed everywhere at night and cars were king. Family road trips to the beach, to grandparents, mountains, and amusement parks. I miss neon. Riding along with windows down in Florida (!!) I was comforted by the wild colors and strange light of hotel signs and restaurant signs. The Varsity and Mary Macs, The Colonnade, the Starlight Drive In & Howard Johnson’s.
