Halifax Mk 2 or Mk 5 F.O. Ian C Thomson Pilot older style Rolls Royce inline engines- if they got into a spin they could not escape the spin - to correct this they changed the shape of the vertical stabilizer - they made them rectangular instead of triangular this cured the problem
