Cardboard Cat House DIY

All you need are some large boxes, duct tape, wall paper and a couple hours. Obviously, I have way too much time on my hands.

Here you can see one of the support "beams" inside the house. It is just a box that held the lights for our bathroom. The wallpaper glue wasn't the best (I guess it doesn't adhese to the cardboard that great), so I also used clear duct tape/packing tape for many of the corners and sides.

So, this was going to be the finished product. I didn't want to paint it because I was worried about it being toxic to my cat. But then, with way too much time on my hands, I started looking around for wallpaper.

The two vanities came with matching mirrors. So, I took the mirror boxes and used them as a room. I also put a couple boxes inside to help as support beams.

Suddenly, it occured to me I could tape them together and cut out some windows and a door. I also cut a hole between the boxes so he could go inside, and jump up into the box or to the top of both boxes. I alternated the holes (the hole you can't see is at the other end of the box, under the large window.

These were the first two boxes we used. We were just going to let him play with these.....
