Doner Kebab Recipe

My dad's favourite dish and everytime he goes back to England
 he can't get enough of eating it.
So after getting the recipe from my mum's friend,
 we can now take my dad down memory lane with food he loves.

You can also make this dish with steak strips instead of chicken
depending on what you prefer.


I have shared a paratha recipe before which is perfect for this dish,
we took a short cut and used ready made parathas (Fatima Parathas).


- INGREDIENTS -
Parathas 
Shredded Salad - (lettuce and cucumber) 


CHICKEN FILLET MARINADE


Chicken Fillet - Strips
2 Tsp Fresh Ginger
1 Tb Fresh Garlic
2 Tb Tandoori Powder
1 Tsp Smoked Paprika
1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
1 Tsp Peri Peri Spice
1 Lemon - Juice
1/2 Tsp Chilli Powder
Pinch Of Cinnamon Powder
Salt To Taste 
Drizzle Olive Oil



SAUCE 1 


Garlic Sauce
Peri Peri Sauce 


SAUCE 2


Yogurt 
Green Chili Paste 
Mint Sauce
Salt To Taste

- METHOD - 
  1. Marinate your chicken strips overnight.
  2. Cook on a griddle pan with a little water till done.
  3. While it's cooking make your parathas, shredded salad and sauces.
  4. When the chicken is done it's time to plate it up.
  5. Place your paratha on a plate, baste the garlic and peri peri sauce over.
  6. Next top with the shredded salad, cooked chicken strips and drizzle with your yogurt chutney.
  7. Serve and enjoy.

  3. Oh will have to give this go! I used to love donor meat from the takeaways until I realised what they were made of and then that put me off! Will have to make my own!

    1. lol oh no I'ms scared to find out what they're made of now! But I'm always weird about eating meat when I'm out even when it's halal :/ anyway home-made is always best lol you know what's inside.

    1. I'm sure there's many versions to it but this is by far my fave and my dad seems to approve so that's a plus since it's his fave dish. It's super easy :)
