Doner Kebab Recipe
Friday, September 29, 2017
My dad's favourite dish and everytime he goes back to England
he can't get enough of eating it.
So after getting the recipe from my mum's friend,
we can now take my dad down memory lane with food he loves.
You can also make this dish with steak strips instead of chicken
depending on what you prefer.
I have shared a paratha recipe before which is perfect for this dish,
we took a short cut and used ready made parathas (Fatima Parathas).
- INGREDIENTS -
Parathas
Shredded Salad - (lettuce and cucumber)
CHICKEN FILLET MARINADE
Chicken Fillet - Strips
2 Tsp Fresh Ginger
1 Tb Fresh Garlic
2 Tb Tandoori Powder
1 Tsp Smoked Paprika
1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
1 Tsp Peri Peri Spice
1 Lemon - Juice
1/2 Tsp Chilli Powder
Pinch Of Cinnamon Powder
Salt To Taste
Drizzle Olive Oil
SAUCE 1
Garlic Sauce
Peri Peri Sauce
SAUCE 2
Yogurt
Green Chili Paste
Mint Sauce
Salt To Taste
- Marinate your chicken strips overnight.
- Cook on a griddle pan with a little water till done.
- While it's cooking make your parathas, shredded salad and sauces.
- When the chicken is done it's time to plate it up.
- Place your paratha on a plate, baste the garlic and peri peri sauce over.
- Next top with the shredded salad, cooked chicken strips and drizzle with your yogurt chutney.
- Serve and enjoy.
This is our take on this lovely dish,
I hope you try this recipe
