Croatia is a country located on the Adriatic Sea that borders several other countries. It gained independence in 1991 after fighting a war from 1991 to 1995. Some key facts about Croatia are that the capital is Zagreb, the official language is Croatian, and the currency is the kuna. Croatia has many natural and cultural sites, including seven UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Diocletian's Palace in Split. Famous Croatians include Nikola Tesla, Sandra Perkovic, and Janica Kostelic.

colours:red,white and blue.
7. The biggest and the capital city in Croatia is
Zagreb,the second biggest is Split and the third is
Rijeka.

only Croats who won a Nobel prize.
Nikola Tesla,one of the greatest minds in
history,was born in Croatia.
Slavoljub Penkala was a Croat who invented a
mechanical pen.
13. Sandra Perkovic is a Croatian discus thrower,who
is currently olympic,world and european
champion.
Janica Kostelic is a former alpine ski racer who
won 4 gold and 2 silver olympic medals.
Goran Ivanisevic is a former tennis player who
won Wimbeldon in 2001.
