The 4th Edition of the DGPSMUN
What is United Nations and What do they do?
An international organization designed to make the
enforcement of international law, security, human rights,
economic and social progress easier for the world.
Today, there are about 192 member countries.
The UN includes committees like the General Assembly,
Human Rights Council, IMF & the Security Council.
Each committee meets annually in regular session to
intensively discuss until all issues on the agenda are
addressed.
What is Model UN?
Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations where
students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real
world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. For
example, a student may be assigned the United Kingdom and will have to solve
global topics climate change from the policies and perspectives of the United
Kingdom.

4. ➔ Delegates must pay AED 175 to
register
➔ The registration form will be uploaded
on the instagram @dgpsmun & on
your class google classrooms on
Tuesday 10th January
➔ All delegates must submit 2 position
papers
Year 11s must submit one position
paper with the second one being
optional
➔ The DGPS MUN will take place on the
24th, 25th & 26th of February: a
weekend packed with intense debates,
delicious food and entertainment!
➔ Stay tuned for MUN workshops,
organized by our Chairs, to guide
beginner & intermediate delegates.
