Mission
Consistent with the pap is mandate function of enforcing laws preventing and

qualities of competence professionalism and dependability totally devoted to
serving with pride and enthusiasm, the need of both foreign and domestic tourist towards the attainment
of a highly competitive tourists and environment friendly region thereby making central
Visayas as one of the best tourist destinations of the world.

FUNCTIONS

primary objective. This includes patrolling tourist areas, responding to emergencies, and
providing assistance in case of incidents.

local laws, customs, attractions, and services. This can involve offering directions,
recommending places to visit, or helping with language barriers.

the workplace, eager to absorb new knowledge and make a meaningful contribution to the team. The
inaugural day within the tourist police unit during my on-the-job training was a whirlwind of
introductions, as we navigated through the bustling station, absorbing the unique dynamics and
responsibilities of safeguarding travelers in our vibrant city.

Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act (VAWC):
The VAWC Act, enacted in 2004, is designed to protect women and children from domestic violence and
abuse. As tourist police officers, you may encounter cases of domestic disputes or violence involving
tourists or locals. It is essential to understand the provisions of the VAWC Act and your responsibilities in
addressing such incidents.
Under the VAWC Act, any act of violence against women and their children, whether physical, sexual, or
psychological in nature, is prohibited and punishable by law. As first responders, you will be trained to
assess and de-escalate volatile situations while prioritizing the safety of victims. Your training will
include protocols for assisting victims of domestic violence, providing them with access to medical and
legal assistance, and facilitating their protection and rehabilitation.
