Mission
Consistent with the pap is mandate function of enforcing laws preventing and
controlling crime maintaining peace and order, and ensuring private safety the tourist police unit shall
continuously train and maintain adequate numbers of personnel to be deployed in the PRO 7 AOR to cater
public safety and special needs of tourists in order to ensure the safe, stress-free and worthwhile stay in
the part of the country.

VISSION
The tourist police unit is envisioned to institutionalize a special pup unit whose member possesses special
qualities of competence professionalism and dependability totally devoted to
serving with pride and enthusiasm, the need of both foreign and domestic tourist towards the attainment
of a highly competitive tourists and environment friendly region thereby making central
Visayas as one of the best tourist destinations of the world.

inaugural day within the tourist police unit during my on-the-job training was a whirlwind of
introductions, as we navigated through the bustling station, absorbing the unique dynamics and
responsibilities of safeguarding travelers in our vibrant city.

During our On- The-Job-Training at the Tourist Police Unit, discussed about how you will learn to handle
situations involving minors with sensitivity and professionalism. Your role may involve coordinating with
social welfare agencies to ensure that juvenile offenders receive appropriate care and support.
Additionally, you will be trained to identify signs of exploitation or abuse among children and to
intervene promptly to protect their rights and well-being.
Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act (VAWC):
The VAWC Act, enacted in 2004, is designed to protect women and children from domestic violence and
abuse. As tourist police officers, you may encounter cases of domestic disputes or violence involving
tourists or locals. It is essential to understand the provisions of the VAWC Act and your responsibilities in
addressing such incidents.

Under the VAWC Act, any act of violence against women and their children, whether physical, sexual, or
psychological in nature, is prohibited and punishable by law. As first responders, you will be trained to
assess and de-escalate volatile situations while prioritizing the safety of victims. Your training will
include protocols for assisting victims of domestic violence, providing them with access to medical and
legal assistance, and facilitating their protection and rehabilitation.
