Flood warning is in effect for parts of N.J.

A flood warning is in effect for parts of several New Jersey counties, according to the National Weather Service.

The areas under the warning are Gloucester, north central Cumberland and eastern Salem in southern New Jersey. Southern Somerset County and northeastern Morris County in the central and northern part of the state are also under the warning. The warnings expire at various times this afternoon depending on location.

Meanwhile, a flash flood watch is in effect until early evening for Essex, Union, Morris, Hudson and Bergen counties.

The NWS is calling for a chance of showers and thunderstorms around Newark today, with up to another half-inch of rain possible. Rain is also possible for tonight and Tuesday before the sun returns Wednesday.
