2025 is just a few days away, so it begs this question: Do you set resolutions at the beginning of the year? I don’t make a big deal of it in my own life. The reason is simple. Sometimes, I set expectations for myself that no one can live up to. So, instead of a resolution, I set goals. At the beginning of the year, I like to think about what I have accomplished and what I want to improve next year. What are my goals? How can I improve my health spiritually, mentally, and physically? I even consider social relationships, which I need to work on.

Join me in making a list of goals for us this next year.

Let’s think about how we can improve our spiritual lives. Do we need to be more involved in Bible classes? Do we need to concentrate better during worship? Do we need to read and study our Bible more regularly? Do we need to work on habitual prayer and meditation?

Let’s think about how we can improve our mental health. Do we need to learn to focus on what we can control and let go of what we can’t? Do we need to talk to someone and get advice or professional counseling? Do we need to take a break and recharge?

Let’s think about how we can improve our physical health. Do we need to begin eating better and exercising? Do we need to cut carbs and sweets? Do we need to see a doctor for a medical check-up? Do we need a chiropractor to get lined up and improve our overall health? Do we need to cut our dependence on pills and search for more natural remedies?

Let’s think about how we can improve our social relationships. Do we need to make amends and heal a torn relationship? Do we need to spend more time together to deepen our connection? Do we need to apologize for a wrong and seek forgiveness? Do we need to forgive someone and restore our relationships?

I feel like these goals are practical and measurable, ensuring we can integrate them into our lives.

Join me in making a list of goals for us this next year.

For the Lord,

Alex
