Founded 1933 by Thomas J.C. Martyn. Acquired by The Washington Post Co. in 1961. Sold to Sidney Harman in 2010, and published until 2012 by Newsweek Daily Beast Company, a 50/50 joint effort of Newsweek and The Daily Beast. Ceased on-paper publication in 2012. Sold in 2013 to the publishers of International Business Times, and the magazine returned to on-paper publication in 2014.
