Electromagnetic Micro-Brakes

Electromagnetic (E.M.) Micro-Brakes resist torque mechanically by utilizing electromagnetic force to engage a mechanical friction disc. An input shaft is connected to the rotating portion of the brake (armature).  When energized, the armature friction disc moves axially to contact the friction material on the stator. This action halts rotation and holds position. The style of brake is also known as power-on engaged. Micro-Brakes are ideal for small, precision equipment.

Typical Applications Include:

  • ATM’s
  • Office Copying Machines
  • Weighing and Packaging Equipment
  • Paper Binding Mechanisms
  • Optical Machines

Electromagnetic Micro-Brakes are a durable, long-lasting option. They are efficient, reliable, and offer robust operation for high-performance applications.

Miki Pulley Micro-Brakes

The Miki Pulley 112 model EM Micro Brakes are a compact design, that offers high performance. The simple yet effective design features a stator with integrated mounting flange, proprietary composite friction liner, and an armature complete with plate spring and friction disc.

Our micro brakes offer a dynamic friction torque range of 0.4 ~ 2.4 Nm and work at operational temperatures from -10 ~ +40°C. Miki Pulley E.M. Micro-Brakes are available in three armature assembly options based on your application requirements.
