Anyone know what offset Dan used front and rear? They're not disclosed on the britishv8 profile or the BAT listing - only as below?

Mk1: CKD 11/66 first registered 8/5/67; owned since 3/77. 18GB +40 balanced. Peter Burgess BVFR head. Piper 285. 123. FidanzaFW. 4synch c/r box. Lots more as I did a nut and bolt rebuild; finished 2015. Tartan Red.

GT: December '78. VW Golf guards, flush fit front and rear valances. Torana XU1 vents, frenched indicators & Mk1 rear lights. 'Worked' Rover V8 with Monsoon ECU for EFI. GM4L60E, Lokar tiptronic & Quick4 controller. Vintage Air A/C. FC IFS. CCE 4 link rear. Salisbury with Quaife. Jaguar Storm.

For an idea of what they might be, try looking at his wheels' website. His rear 15x8 wheels are only available in 3.5", 4.5" and 5.5" backspace. The front 15x7 wheels are only available in 3.5" & 4.5"

I do not recall, Barrie.

Those wheels were purchased 17 years ago. Sometimes, option availability changes over the years.

Thanks Chuck. I'll compare those backspaces to the table I linked on the main forum.

8" with 3.5" BS = -25 offset
8" with 4.5" BS = 0 offset
8" with 5.5" BS = +25 offset

7" with 3.5" BS = -12 offset
7" with 4.5" BS = +12 offset

To some extent Dan's build was my template so a wheel comparison is, for me, in order.

PS I've sent Dan a PM via britishv8.

Thanks for letting me know about Dan - I missed that. I saw his last activity on britishv8 was in November but I hadn't associated that with his passing. sad smiley

I wrote this after I received the sad news.
Quote: "Just got off the phone with Jim Watson. Dan Masters passed away peacefully Sunday morning. His grandson Nico was there with him. Dan's wife, Christa, was in the hospital & now in rehab. She had pneumonia & something else.

There will be no service. Christa is still in rehab & Nico had to fly back to school. He is studying abroad & will be back Dec 21st. Dan donated his body to science.

Dan & I became friends at the 1998 MG V8 meet in Annapolis, MD. We arrived about the same time & I noticed the TN tag on his stock TR6. I was in my stock '79 MGB, also wearing a TN tag.

So glad I was able to spend a bit of time with Dan & Christa on Thursday before the Townsend Fall Gathering & again on Sunday on the way back home from Townsend.

Dan took over the newsletter duties from Kurt Shley & published it for 3 years. He hosted British V8 meets in Townsend, TN in 2003, 2006, 201, & in 2016 with Jim Watson.

Dan wrote & published the excellent TR250-TR6 Electrical Maintenance Handbook. He created the Advance AutoWire business. He redrew all the MGB wiring diagrams into a format that is so much easier to follow & are shared all over the world.

Godspeed, Dan! You will certainly be missed."

He told me after selling his V8 GT he was gonna take his wife on a cruise, I hope they had a wonderful time. I was so glad for him when that car sold for what it did. He was a nice man, may he Rest In Peace.

I hope they did, but not sure that ever happened. Dan's Parkinson's had gotten worse. Neither Dan, nor his wife, Christa, ever mentioned a cruise to me.
