"It's a horror film about a killer app! Do I even need to say any more? When I saw the trailer, I had the same reaction I believe everyone else did: I thought it sounded abysmally stupid. As it turned out, while certainly bad, it was more or less just another subpar horror film. "This is definitely much more a "real" film than the ilk of Slenders and whatnot it gets associated with due to memeification and time of release. It has some fun setpieces that don't manage to be outright scary at any point (honestly how could you be scared by a demon who relies on you not reading the terms of service of an app) but are enjoyable to follow. I even liked the super on-the-nose dialogue throughout. "
