Kinf of having fun with your grandmother. Agnes is so moving, and the film is so hazardous and sincere and not disruptive (sauf the visit to absent Godard)...
Description:
Agnès Varda is a prolific member of New Wave French Cinema who at 89 years old is still caught up in the creativity and wonder of her craft. JR is a 34-year-old photographer and visual artist. They decide to collaborate on an art project and make a film of their adventure. They travel through rural France pondering the faces of ordinary people, the places that nurture or diminish them, the joy of cross-generational sharing, the impermanence of life, and the vagaries of memory. Their work delights all who come in contact with it.

"19.6. Asetelmaltaan aivan liian eksentriseltä hupsuttelulta vaikuttava dokumentti onnistui yllättämään positiivisesti. Tuosta hassuttelusta tulee oikeasti hyvälle mielelle eikä elokuva olekaan missään vaiheessa yhtä ärsyttävä kuin pelkäsin sen olevan, vaikka alkuun päähenkilöt puhuvatkin toisilleen kertojanäänellä ja olin jo valmis repimään pelihousuni. Varda saa dokumenteilleen tyypillisesti katoavat kyläyhteisöt tuntumaan taltioimisen arvoiselta."
