" VUDU- 1hr. 39min. First Viewing While both leads do strong work (Franco in particular excels here), and the real-life story is mesmerizing, the film has such low energy that it threatens to make even it (the story) dull. Had the film had any verve or energy, than this could've been something excellent. "
"Effective, methodical character study. A writer's investment in a pathological liar, shows what brought him to the table in the first place. I'm not sure what people had against it. But ultimately, kind of gets lost in the sea of much more impressive films out there. I just can't get past the fact that this is a James Franco/Jonah Hill vehicle."
