“I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this flick but since I have a weak spot for Jessica Chastain and since it was available on Netflix, I was quite eager to check it out. Well, even if it was a really inspiring tale, it turned out to be only a decent watch and not much more than that, I’m afraid. First of all, even though Chastain is one of the most interesting actresses at work nowadays, I thought she was rather weak here. It didn’t help that she used such an annoying fake Polish accent and, in fact, all the actors were stuck speaking English with some completely random accents. " DVD- 2hrs. 6min. First Viewing It can be a bit bland at times, and its wholly predictable, but The Zookeeper's Wife is an amiable, well-made (and well-intentioned) history lesson with a strong central performance from Jessica Chastain. It's overlong and doesn't have much flavor, but there is enough complexity to the characters and situations to merit interest. I wouldn't wholeheartedly recommend it, but it's a solid movie with an important story, so maybe it's necessary. "
