I wasn’t sure what to expect from this flick but the title sounded cool and there was a really nice cast involved so I thought I might as well give it a try. Description:
Souder, a homicide detective in a small Texan town, and his partner, transplanted New York City cop Detective Heigh, track a sadistic serial killer dumping his victims' mutilated bodies in a nearby marsh locals call 'The Killing Fields'. Though the swampland crime scenes are outside their jurisdiction, Detective Heigh is unable to turn his back on solving the gruesome murders. Despite his partner's warnings, he sets out to investigate the crimes. "The setting and the cop duo made me think the first season of True Detective. Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Sam Worthington are great together and I liked that they had some issues too. The characters are good but the movie felt really familiar (and I guessed the killer quite fast) and long. "
