It’s a nightmare fuel movie, and depressing at times.

The first appearances of Rizzo the Rat, and The Muppet Babies.

Pros:

It’s a fun cheesy movie.

Liam Neeson and Robbie Coltrane

A guilty pleasure film, that never fails to be boring.

The action sequences.

Cons:

It might be too cheesy for some.

The dated effects work.

It’s a fun, action adventure movie, that can be very tense at times.

For some, there are cultural depictions that are decidedly very uncomfortable. Especially the bad guys.

It’s very dark and terrifying at times.

For some Kate Capshaw’s Willie, was way too annoying.

It’s arguably, one of the mid tier Stephen King film adaptation. But it is still a decent movie.

Pros:

It’s a cheese fest, from beginning to end.

The performances by ensemble cast.

Kyle McLachlan

The music by Toto and Brian Eno.

Sting.

The world building in the film.

The effect work, especially the Sand Worms.

Cons:

It’s a very long, convoluted film.

For some, it’s a movie that either was too close to original source material, or veered to far from it.

If you don’t know anything about the source material, you will be absolutely lost.

David Lynch. In retrospect may have the best choice to direct Dune.

Pros:

Lea Thompson

Tim Robbins, hamming it up.

Howard the Duck

The film’s quirky , odd ball, weirdness.

The songs on the soundtrack.

The whole 80’s vibe, the film has.

Cons:

It’s also a really big WTF film.

The special effects feel very of it’s time.

The movie at times, feels like it has idea what itself is. Too raunchy, for the younglings. Too off for others.

Either you like the film, or hate it. There is no in between.

Pros:

Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd

Jamie Lee Curtis

It’s arguably, one of the most hilariously funny films, of all time.

Ralph Bellamy and Don Ameche as the Dukes.

One of my favourite Christmas themed films.

Con:

Some of the humour, does feel very much of its time, and could be questionable for some.

Pros:

The effects work, as dated as it is.

It’s a effective action, sci-fi, hotter film.

The dream sequences.

David Patrick Kelly, as Tommy Ray Glatman

Eddie Albert, Max Von Sydow, and Christopher Plummer

The nightmare fuel.

Con:

It may come across as either too scary, or convoluted to take seriously.

Pros:

It’s a fun movie.

Pros:

John Heard and Daniel Stern, and their earlier performances.

The overall pro urban environmental measage.

It’s really not that bad of a film.

New York City, and all of its 80’s dark, grit, and slime.

Con:

The effects are cheesy as hell.

Pro:

It’s not all that bad of a film. Really.

It’s a great guilty pleasure movie.

The effects, especially with He Who Walks Behind the Rows, instead he is more like a demonic version of the gopher from Caddyshack.

The attention to detail, especially the costumes.

It’s one of the best musical and musical bio films ever.

Con:

Some might take issue, with some of the liberties that movie takes, especially with Saleri.

Pros:

The Hong Kong Cavaliers

John Lithgow, as Dr. Emilio Lizardo

The overall quirky humour.

Con:

It might be too quirky, for everyone who might not get the movie.

Pros:

James Woods (in spite of himself).

The make up, and body horror of the film.

It’s a very unnerving movie.

The grimy feeling, of Videodrome.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada as it’s back drop.

It’s one of David Cronenberg’s best films.

Con:

For some it would be “a litmus test film”, plus the whole queasy exploitive nature of Videodrome.

Pros:

The effects work, in certain segments.

John Lithgow, and the Nightmare At 1.000 Fert segment.

The film score by Jerry Goldsmith.

It’s one of the best horror anthology films, possibly ever.

Twilight Zone: The Movie wonderfully captured the spirit and essence of the original TV series.

Con:

The infamous opening segment, the incident, and John Landis.

Pros:

It’s arguably, one of the best eateries of the Dirty Harry series, or at least the first half.

Sandra Locke

It’s very a suspense filled film, and tense.

Clint Eastwood as Dirty Harry.

Cons:

The amount of violence, and tone might be off putting for some.

Pros:

Jabba and his group of strange weirdos.

It’s a great conclusion of the original trilogy.

Endor and the Ewoks

Yoga’s final appearance.

The final battle

The practical effects, especially the Rancor and the Sarlaac pit.

The gang, getting back together.

Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and the rest of the gang.

It’s action packed, from beginning to end.

Pros:

Even though it’s a sequel, it feels like it’s own movie.

Meg Tilly

Anthony Perkins, still has it. Even years later.

It’s a very under appreciated film.

The film’s film score.

Cons:

It’s considerably more violent, than the first film. If that is entirely possible.

For some, it’s a highly unnecessary sequel, to a classic film.

Pros:

Kurt Russell as R.J. MacReady

The supporting cast.

The effects work by Rob Bottin, it’s gnarly, and terrifyingly awesome.

The film’s cold atmosphere.

Ennio Morricone’s score.

It’s a very relentless movie.

One of John Carpenter’s best films.

It’s one of the best film remakes, ever.

The ending.

Jed the Dog

Con: For some, it could a unbearably queasy, uncomfortable, grim, violent mess of a film. it’s not for everybody.

Pros:

The cinematography

The feeling of remoteness, you get watching the film.

The film’s score.

It’s over laying message.

Earlier film performances.

Tulsa, Oklahoma during the 50’s.

It’s a excellent adaptation, of a classic novel.

Admittedly, the film could be considered style over substance.

Michael Pare as Eddie Wilson.

The mystery surrounding Eddie.

It’s one of the best rock music films, that you have heard of.

Pros:

The overall atmosphere.

The music score by Michael Kamen.

Christopher Walken as Johnny Smith.

Martin Sheen, as Greg Stillson.

It’s one of the best if not under appreciated Stephen King movies,

Pros:

The overall intensity of the film. You will feel every gruelling moment in the movie.

Dee Wallace and Danny Pintauro.

Cujo

The effects work.

The music score by Charles Bernstein.

Cons:

Pet owners will feel very uneasy, watching the movie.

As great as the film is, there are better Stephen King adaptation movies.

Pros:

The attention to detail in the film.

Peter Billingsley as Ralphie Parker.

Ralphie’s father.

It’s a classic Christmas movie.

Plenty of memorable moments.

The narration.

The nostalgia factor.

Con:

Some moments in the film, aged better than others.

Pros:

The cast is overall really great.

The decidedly memorable moments.

It’s depiction of grief, and dealing with loss.

The soundtrack.

Cons:

For some, the film represents everything wrong with the Boomer generation.

It can be too off putting, over wrought, and sentimental for some at times.

Pros:

Roy Schneider and Malcolm McDowell.

The cinematography.

The use of Los Angeles, and its skyscrape.

The soundtrack.

It’s a action packed film from beginning to end.

Blue Thunder itself.

Pros:

It’s a gnarly and gruesome movie.

The gothic atmosphere.

The effects work, it’s unsettling and effective.

The soundtrack.

The decidedly bleak ending.

Con:

It’s pretty much for fans of gruesome horror films, only. Others maybe turned off by its nasty amount of violence.

Pros:

The state of the art effects, even if they feel date are still awesome.

The computer world of Tron.

David Warner as Sark.

The soundtrack, featuring Wendy Carlos and Journey.

It’s a fun movie to watch.

Pros:

It’s a fun movie, to watch.

Dirk Durock as Swamp Thing.

The effects work for the Swamp Thing, as dated as it is still pretty decent.

It’s better movie, than it has right to be.

Louis Jourdan, as Dr, Arcane

Con:

While not one of Wes Craven’s Best films it’s still pretty good.

Pros:

Ricardo Montalban as Khan.

The effects, is considerably better than the first film.

James Horner’s music score.

The ending. I still gets me even years later.

It’s one of the best films, in the original film series.

It’s a decently very tense film, at times.

Pros:

The effects, are pretty somewhat decent.

It was great seeing the original Star Trek crew, return.

Cons:

It’s freaking long, and ponderous.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture, feels like a big budgeted episode come to life.

Pros:

The great animation.

Mrs. Brisby, and the Rats of NIMH.

Music by Jerry Goldsmith and Paul Williams

The overall environmental and others messages, all way before Ferngully, and other films.

The fact, that the film can be decidedly dark and mature, even for a kids film.

The voice acting.

Con:

The Secret of NIMH, might be too dark for younger audiences.

Pros;

It’s one of the best films, in the Rocky series.

“Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor.

Mr. T as Clubber Lang.

The boxing matches.

Cons:

However, it’s not as great, as the previous two.

Hulk Hogan as Thunder Lips.

Pros:

The dread that comes with watch the movie. You won’t see your TV the set the same way, again!

Craig T. Nelson, and Jo Beth Williams as Diane and Steve Freeling.
