Description:
American pop group The Carpenters was a duo consisting of Karen Carpenter (lead vocals and drums) and her elder brother Richard Carpenter (keyboards and vocals).
Their discography consists of twelve studio albums, two christmas albums, two live albums, forty-six singles and numerous compilation albums.
The siblings started their musical career together in the latter half of the 1960s. In October 1969, a half year after they made a contract with A&M Records, the Carpenters released their debut album Offering (later its title was changed to "Ticket to Ride").
