We're excited to introduce Release Intelligence today in Productlane. It's hard to maintain writing regular Changelogs and keeping customers updated about new features. Release Intelligence is designed to take most of that work off your plate and help you release regularly. When you complete a project in Linear, it fetches all issues completed since your last Changelog and turns them into a draft. It generates two paragraphs for each completed project and one bullet per completed issues. It makes issue titles more human-readable and includes the product area, which is based on the Linear label. It won't create a perfect Changelog yet, and you will need to add some remaining work to polish the details and images, but it should remove around 80% of the friction to release a new feature. Curious to see how teams will use it. Find the full Changelog here: https://lnkd.in/drya_UF8

At Lume (YC W23), we ship fast—but keeping customers updated was a challenge. How did we fix it? Well, we had a changelog, but maintaining it manually was a pain—digging up bug fixes, taking screenshots, writing updates. Eventually, we just stopped. As a startup, time is precious. A manual changelog wasn’t worth the effort, but we still wanted customers to stay in the loop. The fix? Still a changelog—but a MUCH better version: Productlane. Raphael Fleckenstein built a product that pulls from our Linear tickets and creates a changelog automatically. I just add some hero shots, and it's done. Now, customers can see our latest updates right in the Lume App—without extra work from our team. Easy weekend win, big upside. Pic of our most recent entry below 😁

  • New: Winter polish, AI titles, and widget attachments Over the holidays, we shipped over 250 performance enhancements, bug fixes, and UI improvements. If you go through the tool, everything should feel even faster, simpler, and more enjoyable. AI titles: Our first larger feature this year will make the inbox more scannable for you: AI titles. They work for all incoming feedback except emails. If you turn feedback into an issue or project, it will pre-fill the title, making the workflow from receiving feedback to creating it in Linear much faster. Widget attachements: Your customers can now upload attachments to the widget, helping you debug faster and get more context from requests. We have also streamlined the animations and added some more polish to the widget.

2024 was really rewarding. We evolved Productlane from a feedback and roadmap add-on to a powerful customer support tool that's built around Linear. We hit all our revenue milestones in Q4 and even during the holidays many upgraded and especially started using our new support widget. Linear launching their new customer request feature confirmed our approach that all your ideas need to be in the issue tracker, and we're really excited to build more support and public-facing features around this concept. Tools that process feedback or support need to be built around and tightly integrate with the issue tracker, and our focus on Linear enables us to keep the product really purpose-built and simple. We can't wait to turn Productlane into the default customer support tool for companies who use Linear, thank you for being part of this journey!

At Productlane, we use Replicache as a sync engine that makes the app really fast. We've been one of the first companies adopting it, as we think, all products that don't have a sync engine will feel unusable after you get used to more and more tools having one. The only challenge is the initial load time, which can be a bit long for workspaces with lots of data. Super happy that Aaron Boodman has raised from top tier investors like Dylan Field and Elad Gil and evolved Replicache into Zero, to solve the initial load and make everything even faster and more robust. They launched the Alpha today, you should go check it out. We're implementing it currently, and it will soon turn Productlane into the fastest customer support tool on the market :)

Really excited about Linear going into customer feedback. They have a lot of potential there, like adding AI magic with recommendations on what to build. We always thought this needed to be in the issue tracker where you do the planning. We can now build a customer support tool that's complementary to all aspects of Linear, helping to get all feedback into it. With highest design standards and local-first approach.
