✅ I had the pleasure of delivering 2 invited talks at QNDE 2024 (https://lnkd.in/eVqpwkQ4) ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers), which is taking place in Denver Co. Part of the work presented has been conducted within the Associated International Lab SENSIN-CT Université Gustave Eiffel and Politecnico di Milano Cosys Département. The presentations made mentions to previous projects (PI Monssef DRISSI-HABTI). such as DECID2 Idil Fibres Optiques EVEREST GE IRT Jules Verne EMODI CEA CEA Tech M-ERA.NET FLOW-CAM TEKNOPAR Inria MEDYSYS. ✅ The first one entitled Advances in the New Concept of Dual-Sinusoid Distributed Fiber-Optic Sensors Antiphasically-Placed for Ndt & Shm of Smart Composite for Offshore is heuristically a summary of our research on multiscale modeling of smart composites, which includes aspects relating to physical properties of fiber-optic sensors, their accurate placements for optimized structural health monitoring and ways to lower as much as possible their intrusiveness in parent composite structures. ✅ The 2nd speech relates to multiphysics modeling of High Voltage Electric Transport Cables for offshore is entitled « New Concept of Smart Hi-Voltage Power Cables for Offshore Farms - Multiphysics, SHM & Ageing Modeling», where various options of embedding optical fiber sensors at the vicinity of copper wires were presented, numerically and analytically modeled and optimized to better monitore any progressive plasticity of conductor wires that may happen during manufacturing, shipping, handling and/or when laying down at seabeds, thus preventing shutdown of these cables, which if it happens is a real technical and economical catastrophy. ✅ The key publications supporting the research appeared in MDPI Sensors MDPI Journal of Composites Science Engineering Journals Elsevier Université Gustave Eiffel Politecnico di Milano Cosys Département Monssef DRISSI-HABTI Aghiad Khadour Preshit LIMJE, Ph.D. Fouad ECH CHEIKH Venkadesh Raman Hao Su Sriharsha Manepalli Abhijit Neginhal Michele Miceli Safiullah Timorian GE CEA TEKNOPAR MEDYSYS Pierre-Jean BONAMY Yoann JACQ MDPI Sensors MDPI Journal of Composites Science Elsevier for Engineering R&D #SHM #sensors #Modeling #FEM #Offshore #renewables
