The body of a missing Beaverton woman has been found, and police arrested one of her neighbors.

Melissa Jubane, 32, was reported missing Wednesday after she didn’t clock in for her shift as a registered nurse at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Washington County.

Police searched her apartment at 1050 S.W. 160th Ave. Wednesday in response to a welfare check request and declared her a missing person that afternoon.

According to a news release from Beaverton police, they found Jubane’s body and arrested one of her neighbors, Bryce Johnathan Schubert, 27, Friday evening. Police say he was charged with murder but have not released any other details.

“Our hearts are broken at the news of the death of our Providence St. Vincent nurse and colleague, Melissa Jubane. This comes as a shock to us all and she is mourned by her co-workers. Melissa was an exceptional nurse,” Providence said in a statement released Saturday morning.

Jubane worked at St. Vincent for almost six years, Providence told The Oreognian/OregonLive Saturday.

A Providence spokesperson said that Schubert worked as a nurse at Providence Portland Medical Center from September 2022 to October 2023, but he never worked at St. Vincent.
