Arteriosclerosis: An Official Journal of the American Heart …, 1984•Am Heart AssocThe genes for two of the apolipoproteins, apo AI and apo C-III, previously shown to be within
3kb in the genome, were localized to human chromosome 11 by Southern blot analysis of
DNA from human-rodent somatic cell hybrids. These two genes were shown to exhibit
polymorphisms associated with dyslipoproteinemia and premature atherosclerosis, and it
will now be possible to examine the relationship of these genes to the many others that have
been assigned to this chromosome.
