ABSTRACT: The attribute space of the concept of "information," as presented by the MIS textbook literature, is reviewed and summarized. Lack of closure is found, indicative of the absence of an accepted theory within which the information construct is consistently understood. Two contrasting approaches to theoretical unification are identified.
