Limerick fleet management firm Tranzaura acquires UK company

Tranzaura Group is set to manage 400,000 assets daily and conduct 500,000 weekly safety inspections across the UK

Limerick-based fleet management company Tranzaura has acquired UK company Truckfile for an undisclosed amount.

Founded in 2010, Tranzaura specialises in bringing real-time information to transport companies to reduce costs, keep track of compliance obligations, and manage vehicles.

Speaking on the acquisition, the company said the "strategic move" would help expand its footprint in the fleet management software industry.

"With this acquisition, Tranzaura Group significantly enhances its usage and capabilities, now hosting and managing 400,000 fleet assets daily while conducting half a million weekly safety inspections using advanced technology and multi-layered security," the firm said on Wednesday.

Based in Redditch, Worcestershire, Truckfile provides software for commercial vehicle and transport sectors. The acquisition will include its widely used HGV fleet and workshop management software, along with its existing team of employees who will now join Tranzaura.

The company's software will also support nearly 500 commercial workshops across the UK, delivering maintenance solutions designed to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

“By bringing together two leading providers in the industry, this partnership is set to drive innovation, modernise fleet management, and ensure customers remain competitive in an evolving market," said Shane Mann, CEO of Tranzaura.

"We are excited to join forces, combining our expertise, resources, and reputation to drive innovation and elevate customer experience. Together, we are set to disrupt a mature market with the latest advancements in fleet intelligence and management software.”

Speaking on the purchase, Paul Whittingham, managing director of Truckfile said it marked an "exiting chapter," adding it will help it "offer a wider range of software and services to drive new opportunities and continue pushing the boundaries.”

Speaking to the Irish Examiner this week, Mr Mann said newly released technology by Tranzaura will help it accelerate further, with growth of 40% targeted for 2025.

“That means 40% growth in sales and equivalent expansion for the company in terms of headcount.”

The CEO says the firm will look to expand into the wider European market, including France and Germany, with the company employing AI to help to translate the software for non-English speakers.

In addition, the company is aiming to add to its current headcount of 22 employees, half of whom work in Limerick, with the other cohort spread remotely across the world.

“We want to grow our headcount by a minimum of 50% this year. We want to have more than 40 employees in the company by this time in 2026,” said Mr Mann.
