Imawa no Kuni no Arisu (2020)
Love it
Fast pace, unusual events, great setting and camerawork... Minus point is 'beach', it was a bit too long and unnessecary. Waiting for S2!
Ojing-eo geim (2021)
Good show, but I prefer Alice in Borderland
I liked Squid Game, it's refreshing to watch something of this genre besides all the overload of romcoms and other shallow programs that are offered. The camerawork, settings, acting is wonderful (minus the foreign VIPS, oh my god I really hope Korea stops casting those wannabe caucasion actors, cuz they can't act even if their life depends on it, cringe level 1000!)
A few minus points: the white actors (VIPS) as mentioned above. Also, the pace is really slow. And A LOT of things were very predictable. Sometimes I was just plain bored, and that isn't a good thing if it's a thriller/suspense genre series, right?
Overall there were somewhat interesting characters and a few good moments about bonds, but still, there was something lacking. I wasn't shocked or on the verge of tears when someone died or when a emotional scene happened. Also, the main character was unlikable. He showed a great ethic belief during the games, but then he didn't show much growth (after the games he's still a good for nothing loser).
Alice in Borderland on the other hand, has more fantasy elements, but a fast pace combined with unusual turns of events that makes you really sit on the edge of your seat.
Last, but not least: please watch it in the original audio (Korean) with subtitles. DON'T watch it dubbed. Don't be lazy cuz you'll have to read subtitles, because firstly, it's not a big deal, and secondly, you'll miss so much emotion, humor and whatnot if you watch dubbed versions (of anything, really). SUB > DUB.
100 Humans (2020)
What even...
The hosts are incredibly ANNOYING and unfit to present, trying too hard to be funny which makes me cringe even harder. The topics of the experiments aren't that interesting, useful or special - I stopped watching after a solid 20 minutes.
Save your time and energy and DON'T watch this poorly 'show' or whatever it is.
Rush Hour (1998)
Fantastic
Even all those years, I still think this is one of the best action/comedy movies of all time. Chan and Tucker are a golden duo, and the action and comedy ratio is on point. Very entertainable and timeless movie.
Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son (2011)
Bad singing. What even...
Where is the charm of Big Momma? BM1+2 weren't exactly master pieces, but had its funny moments and charms. However, this movie is just a joke. Better rename it to: Big Momma pays a visit to High school musical. Bad acting, unlikable characters, Big Momma moved from the spotlight to the shadows. For what? Some teen brats?
Revolutionary Road (2008)
Dark but oh so relatable
Dark but oh so relatable. However, I don't think this is Dicaprio's nor Winslet's best work, because to me the movie is quite forgetable.
Goodfellas (1990)
Once in a lifetime
There won't be another movie like this in its genre. It's one in a lifetime. Priceless.
Enter the Anime (2019)
What even...
Please don't watch this. It's 1) a waste of your time 2) a disgrace to anime.
Sex and the City 2 (2010)
Disappointed
After re-watching SATC, SATC The Movie and SATC The Movie 2 I decided to leave a review.
I was a huge fan of the series, however the more I re-watched the series, the more I hated Carrie. The older I got, the more I saw how selfish and bratty she is.
Besides that, I really wished they didn't make the movies. The series were really good, and with most things: it's good to quit at your peak. Now, SATC The Movie 2 was even more disappointing than the first movie. Overall it was really bad acting, no funny jokes, and not needed scenes in the Middle East, where especially the scene with Samantha getting all loco on the streets didn't do any justice for her character. I feel sorry for Kim Cattrall she had to play that.
I couldn't relate to any of the women anymore. Actually, I felt rather annoyed watching them whine like some spoiled upper class brats. And Carrie is in her 40s here, but still thinks and acts like she's in her 20s. Come on...
Now they're making a follow-up series of 10 eps, and I give props to Kim Cattrall for saying NO. You're damn right, girl.
Failure to Launch (2006)
Lame, boring, predictable
Matthew just repeating many roles he did before in romcoms, and SJP can't shake SATC's Carrie Bradshaw off. Her handgestures and her high pitched screeches are all the same as her Carrie character.
The story was lame, boring, and predictable every second of the movie. The supporting cast wasn't bringing much extra, and some scenes were so over the top - it was ridicilous and even painful to watch.
For example 1: the paintball scene. All Paula (SJP) did was hide and scream, and at the last moment she had the chance to hit a guy from the other team in the back. Then being all smug about it (like, what did you even do lmao) and the guys were all impressed. Wth?
For example 2: the scene at the cafe where everyone looked at them talking it out on a big screen. When they kissed and make up, everyone screamed with joy as if they've won the war. Seriously, I couldn't look at it.
Boku dake ga inai machi (2016)
Must watch!
Great story, relatable characters, good voice acting, enough depth in background stories (except for the villain maybe, but ok). I watched it in one go. It could've had more eps if you ask me :)
Orange Is the New Black (2013)
What happened?!
The first seasons were good, fun, addicting. But what happened?! Especially season 6, like wth I can't even... This bs 'war' between Carol and Barb?! No one gives a sh*t and it was too childish for words. And not to mention this awful annoying character 'Badison'. From her face, her background story to her freakin' annoying way of talking: I think most people hated her to the core.
Also, most of the original cast disappeared. And of the ones who remained: Piper and Alex' lovestory became boring a long time ago, and what was the role of Flaca even?! Doing some radioshow that wasn't even funny? I was glad Blanca got a bigger role tho, she's always been funny as hell :)
