Swing Into Romance (2023)
An Explosion Of Fall Fouillage...
Once again, a cute Romantic Comedy with last minute twists and a happily ever after ending!
I keep coming back for more, even though the plots are similar, it's always great to end the day on a positive, feel good note.
Now back to my pet peeve, the deco seems like a sponsorship from Dollarama and Michael's. An exaggerated explosion of Fall Fouillage; yellow, orange and red maple leaves in every style, size and design. It's so opulent that it's distracting the attention from the characters, which do have interesting chemistry and personalities.
Every scene's decor, whether it be interior or exterior, is accentuated with tones of artificial fall garlands, oddly placed trees, shrubs, flower banks,,, you name it... which seems to be a copy paste of the previous scene... Save on the Deco, it's not needed and stay focused on the actors....
Right in Front of Me (2021)
Typical Rom-Com, with a few twists...
Cute Romantic Comedy, with the usual confrontations, mishaps and climax, adding a charming culinary twist and a touch of fashion influences.
Characters are creditable, simple and complement each other. Enjoyable story line, interesting interactions and believable. Always the last minute drama (at the 75th minute) which always concludes in an Happily Ever After, Feel Good Movie.
Location is wonderful, although used multiple movie production. Still a beautiful property.
One note to the set designer, loose the excessive use of artificial flowers... every scene is an explosion of unnaturally and exaggeratedly displayed flowers (plants, trees, bouquets...), reused over and over again in every scene, almost distracting. Looks like a plug for "Michael's"...
Under a Lover's Moon (2021)
Cute story, horrible editing...
It's all in the details... of which many errors could have been avoided if the producers / editors paid attention to editing.
The background sceneries are from anywhere and do not coordinate, loosing credibility.
The resort used was filmed at the Delta resort in Kelowna, BC, unfortunately boasting: tropical sceneries, beach front shots and lake/mountain/valley views... which do not even match together... The city views vary from Montreal to Vancouver... Taking stock photos to complete the scenery should be complimentary to the film, not confusing... that said, still a cute romantic comedy...
