Yellowstone has been a TV highlight in our household. This episode, was NOT a highlight. It was short on plot development and felt like a filler.
The last few episodes have been long on cowboys at work and, apart from the odd drive by hit job, have been a little dull.
Can live with why the writer insists on showing off his riding skills every so often, but this episode went full Taylor Sheridan featurette. If I didn't know any better, I'd suggest his ego has got the better of him!
The show without Costner is lacking. Beth and Rip are good viewing but the other characters are less interesting and I'm unsure I'd bother with another season - if there is bing to be one.

This was required viewing in our household for several seasons. Unfortunately, the back stories are now taking up time which I'd personally prefer to see used on more of the actual restoration work, which is often fascinating. Based on the overall score for the programme however, I seem to be in a significant minority!
Like a few posters, not really sure how much Jay Blades adds, perhaps it's his idea/ and/or production company? Seems like a nice enough guy, but his role seems to be to try and dig into the invariable sob story.
Still watch on catch up if nothing else and it's raining. But feel it's nearing the need for a break.

As others have said, this movie has a fairly slow start. This is clearly to introduce the various characters and establish a 'back story'.
Once this is done, it moves to a pretty decent action film. Pine is a good actor and his character is believable and I found myself sympathetic.
Some of the comments talk about plot predictability and, to be fair, there's some validity in this criticism.
All said, I've rated it 7 and I think the current overall rating is a bit mean. There's a lot of dross out there at the moment and a half decent action movie to while away a couple of hours on a rainy evening...this one ticks the box.
