Treason (2022)

A hard won *. Pitiful.
27 December 2022
Written by an 11 year old? That would explain the total lack of any insight into anything to do with intelligence agencies and political intrigue. Another Netflix flop. Every single character is completely unbelievable and totally incompetent. Even 'C' can walk around clubs, pubs, shops, alley ways willy-nilly with no security or notification. The MI6 operatives couldn't even work as security in Tesco. Or maybe, just maybe, it is uncannily accurate, in which case I hope you sleep well at night knowing the professional and capable hands your national security is in. The acting isn't even acceptable.

Making Two Episodes into Six

Preferred the 2 episode format. Gave up... maybe forever!

OK, after the first each single episode may have stood alone if they'd left out the 2 minutes of the underlying forgettable plot but the "old" format was spot on. 98% of an episode is not enough to develop a good plot.

Tedious

First episode. 20 minutes to go. Switched off. Who was killed? Didn't care. Suspects? Not a clue. Yawn.... New mother with post-natal something. Latin teacher playing detective. Once is enough. Sorry...

Too many episodes. A study on the entitled.

Plenty of opportunities to go and put the kettle on without using the pause function. And a German/Russian with a Kentucky (or Belfast) nasal twang? Please! Only the in-bred entitled could be fooled if Anna was anything close to the character portrayed.

Warning: Spoilers
No believable plot but with almost infinite ammo. Luckily the Nazis are complete idiots and the Yanks are amazing. If there is any historical accuracy I fear i missed it. Give it a miss!

Acting at its best
29 September 2021
Subject matter aside the actors nailed it in exemplary fashion. A moving, poignant and hard-hitting movie. If this doesn't affect you, well.....

Boring, poorly directed and acted travelogue... including random time travel. Not one character interested me from E3. So I gave up.

Move on after Series 2
1 March 2021
Series 1 good, if a little slow. Series 2 maybe a little better, good cast and acting. Series 3? Not Marcella at all. Dreadful acting. Avoid!

Where were the Sutton Hoo treasures? The helmet, for goodness sake - not even a mention of the world famous artefact! Not sure what the point was.

Depressing and pointless. Just what we all need with the world the way it is. On the bright side... nothing really happens. I stopped watching with 20 minutes to go. I couldn't take any more.

Very "lazy" finale. Except for Jamie all the characters suddenly got stupid.

New, bewildering, and pointless
16 January 2019
Quite simply -not a clue what this series is about. If there is a thread, I lost it. The whole thing is like 11 entirely different programmes with even the characters while called the same, are all over the place. Spoiler alert... don't waste your time.

Only needed 2! What little plot there's is is way over spun and at times seems interminable.

What accent is Kathy Bates attempting?

It's drifts from Scots to Irish to Yorkshire with an occasional Yankee and Mid-Atlantic. I expect more from her. Good ripping yarn though.

SciFi has had its day...
20 August 2018
... and should be laid to rest with some dignity intact. I am constantly searching for a new SciFi series that works but, alas, no one seems capable of producing one that isn't a bland extension of life here on earth in the 90s. Perhaps science fact has ruined it but the main problem I have is that the plots are really boring, unnecessarily complicated or simply confused. There is little entertainment in any new SciFi output. I'm disappointed in the loss of this genre.

What was that all about?
19 August 2018
Apart from manic hyper Jaws music and running around there was no significant plot at any level. The hi-tech surveillance and instant intelligence was way, way beyond belief. And I just wanted them all to die...

It just faded out...
4 August 2018
... after the first couple of episodes. It simply lost a plot that may never have been there in the first place. Great scenery in Northern Ireland though.

Sci-Fi? Nah!
24 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Have I missed the bit that explains how this situation arose? Invisible aliens? Collaborators everywhere! Boring plot, stiff acting, completely uninteresting. Not even sure why it's titled 'Colony'. Polish your nails instead!

How could anyone mark this as a 10!
20 July 2018
One an one-third episodes were more than enough. The scenery was nice and not much wrong with the acting but looked more like a spilled jigsaw with no picture on the box lid.

Barely made it to the end of this last episode. Rendered the whole series a waste of time. Great sets though, thanks to Northern Ireland!

Well Acted But Too Slow
15 April 2018
As usual for too many British TV dramas, beautifully produced, acted and filmed. The plot is quite good and believable except it could have been a few episodes shorter. The background music was quite depressing at times, probably intentional, but was too somber.
