The Confession Tapes (2017)
Watch it to help yourself
This is made regarding US justice system but sadly, it is true for the entire world. We all have watched in movies that whenever there is an accusation of any kind of wrongdoing, then the accused(most of the times) asks for attorney straight away. I always wondered why they do that? Why pay an expensive lawyer when you are innocent and have done nothing wrong. AFTER watching it, I UNDERSTOOD and understood well enough and felt it's worth to do that. *One line from Episode 4* — Karen Boes, who was convicted in related to the death of her daughter,(I dare not call it murder because conviction/evidence was very very iffy in my opinion) said the last line in this episode:- "It doesn't matter how innocent you are, get an attorney and don't speak" (to police/investigators alone).
One line we all often hear is that every person has a breaking point. Before watching it, I was skeptical about HOW ON EARTH someone can confess to a crime they didn't commit, after watching this, I am still not 100% convinced, but I certainly feel it's possible. In some cases, it does feel like state just want to pin it on someone for the sake of it and doesn't follow the evidence. And we see really long interviews, some even using leading the suspects into saying things they normally won't and using illegal techniques.
Please heed those Karen Boes words if anyone finds themselves in any such unfortunate situation.
Rules of Engagement (2007)
Half decent
I think people in relationships will like it more than others. But even then some episodes are really boring and sometimes characters seem to be tired. Laughs and jokes aren't of top notch quality and stupid silly things that David Spade does makes it a little worthwhile.
My ratings: 5/10.
Shame (2011)
Sex Sex .. useless Sex
This isn't The worst movie I've ever seen. But I'm definitely most disappointed by this crap which starts from sex and ends with sex + suicide of the sister of the sexual addict. In between the movie Plot : Filled with the acts of Sexual addict.. Now is it hard to imagine what they can possibly be?
My disappointment comes from people who have rated it high enough to help this crap load reach 7+ /10 ratings...
Some even calling it masterpiece...wow! just wow!
Then for those people, most of the French Movies must DOUBLE-TRIPLE masterpiece...
This movie is more like Mastur-bation-piece.
Cabin Fever (2016)
3 little Differences from Original 2002 version
I'm not going to mention any story. Because it is ditto copy of 2002 original version. Lets see what is difference from 2002 version?
1.Police inspector involved in the movie is a female this time. It was a male in the original. Hell, even the name is same-Winston. In fact , all characters have the same names. But neither funny. Absolute crap.
2.In the sex scenes, there are b**bs on offer to see. Yeah. There was less nudity in the original one as Marcy of 2002 version (Cerina Vincent) had problems with that. Marcy of 2016(Nadin Crocker) had none. She performed them.
3.Ending has one less scene where in original there is a scene of hospital as Paul is inspected there in 2002. That scene is cut in 2016.
Other than these 3, you can play 2002 version alongside 2016 version. Same script. Same dialogues. No difference at all.
Talk about WORST SEQUELS.
This even tops Cabin Fever 2 , who I think was the shittiest I've ever seen. I'd have given it -10 ratings if IMDb allowed it!
Sleepers (1996)
I think it is a gem.
I am giving this a 10. First thing first- I watched it in 2016. 20 years after it came out.And as i checked some facts about its origin, I found out that people questioned its "truthfulness" and cared far less of its content. That's sickening!
The author of the book reveals of the personal sexual abuse he received at Boys Juvenile center.. would you do that if that REALLY didn't happen?
Would any of us will say "I was raped even if I wasn't?" I think its more of a reverse...
If someone is sexually assaulted, then there are chances that he might hide it out of shame or horror of reliving it... Thing is I don't question its truthfulness.
And even it was faked, content is one that should be cared about.
Kids are supposed to be "kept in line" at a Juvenile Center rather than forced upon or raped. It wet my eyes when I see kids being treated like that.
About the performances, I think everybody performs superb especially Brad Pitt who is outstanding in the court(in order to lose the case).I also like the character of "Shakes" played by Jason Patric.
And the character who draws me to watch any movie he is in-Robert DE Great Niro... superb as a gentleman as always. (I always wonder how many "flop" movies this legend has played in?-- - 1,2 or none... I don't think there is any).
I recommend this movie. It asked me to write a First ever IMDb review.
