Sundown (2021)
a view of a ruling family
A interesting film, which could only have been made with Tim Roth as the main lead character. I guess that tells enough about Roth. The script by Michel Franco is likewise to be categorized, as a rare occasion and moment in our time. The Bennett family, Neil Bennett, Alexa Bennett (brother and sister) and Colin Bennett and Alice Bennett (son and daughter of Alexa), are the Briton tycoons of the Pig meat industry. While vacationing/living in a Acapulco resort, the company Grand Mother is taken to a Hospital in England and hours later dies. What happens next is for the occasional viewer is hard to understand, most certainly the behavior of Neil is very strange. Several explanations can be made, which is why Sundown is a rare and very extraordinary movie. The innocent explanation, is that Neil contracts cancer in the frontal lobe brain and almost like a zombie walks through the movie, and at the end is able walk out of the Mexico City oncology center and travels back to the Acapulco resort. The not so innocent explanation is that the Acapulco resort is one of the Bennett real estate assets, which is run by Mexican Cartel personnel. The health of the Bennett grand mother is troublesome, which forces Neil, the acting CEO, to make far reaching measures. Knowing that his mother is not going to make it, he decides to arrange a holiday with his sister and her children on the Acapulco resort, as part of a plan to skip his sister from the Bennett Pig meat industry. On the airport Neil plays dumb (or is indeed temporarily dumb) and says he forgot his passport, as an excuse not to travel back to England. What happens next to Neil, is that he has some sort of a nervous breakdown, with sometimes psychotic visualizations and scenery from a pigsty and slaughter house. Whose plan it is, which is unfolding, remains unclear, but Neil is constantly in some kind of lethargic rouse which make him do the strangest actions, which seem spontaneous, but are also at the same time the necessary steps of the unfolding plan. When finally all steps of the plan for succession are completed, Neil wakes up in the Mexico City oncology center with a full remission, doesn't seem to know who the woman in his hospital bed is, and travels home to the Bennett Acapulco resort, like nothing happened.
Gangcheolbi 2: Jeongsanghoedam (2020)
good stuff
When Steel Rain 2 was released on September 25, 2020 the South Korean movie director must have been briefed that our President Smoot in r.l. Was going to loose the 2020 election on November 3rd 2020. So a humorous bent with three world leaders bitching and moaning over cigars, food and farts in a too small submarine cabin would become a nice feature in this release. Steel Rain 2 feels and watches like a real pre millennium quality blockbuster, from the times when Hollywood was still furnishing solid stuff in the genre. Some may murmur that 2h 12m is way too long, but the real quality of a blockbuster movie is that it has ended before the audience knows it. Steel Rain 2 fits the bill perfectly here. Speaking about President Smoot in r.l. Losing the U. S. elections, a new movie docu was just released in the saga : Rigged: The Zuckerberg-Funded Plot to Defeat Donald Trump.
Hostiles (2017)
textbook slow walking
When not troubled and misled by official taught pre knowledge of the aftermath of the civil war, this movie will pass with flying colors as the text book example of what the slow-walking of tasks, duties and problems looked like in the 19th century. So how sluggish did Christian Bale in fact slow walk his obligations ? First the old Chief died of old age and yellow fever even before ever reaching Bear Valley, to never set eyes on his promised land ever again. Second, all of Capt. Blocker friends turn out to have died during his death march on horseback, a march at the speed of your typical Christian burial procession of US Presidents, or Godfathers . The viewer who has watched this to the bitter end should be handed the congressional medal for endurance. From previous movies we know that Rosamund Pike and Christian Bale did their finest performances in roles of dangerous psychopath's . The most saddening part is, that even though Rosalie openly had set eyes on Capt. Blocker - a name which could not have been chosen more wisely and striking, illustrating the chronic slow-walking by Bale - in the end after spending almost half of their lives together, Madame Quaid lost her three children and husband farmer at the beginning of this saga, the Captain is even still sleepwalking his decision whether he will start a relationship and new life with Rosalie Quaid. One wonders how Capt. Joseph J. Blocker ever was able to establish his stellar reputation with the Blue Jacket Army brass finest .. The most disturbing message which director Scott Cooper tries to carry through onto his ever more faster dwindling and dying audience, is his message of false guilt feelings for the native Indians, resembling the guilt laid upon Germans after the second world war. This sorry and pithy message simply is not true, as there has never been a true story recorded where another Indian Chief actually made an attempt to rescue Chief Yellow Bear from his deadly slow walking envoy to the eternal hunting fields.
Silence (2016)
a 2 hour and 40 minutes swamp ride
Shusaku Endo was a Japanese author who wrote from the rare perspective of a Japanese Roman Catholic. He often likened Japan to a swamp or fen. In the novel Silence, an official tells a priest who has apostatized, "Father, it was not by us that you were defeated, but by this mud swamp, Japan." One wonders how a native Japanese man could think this way of his own country. Maybe Endo was not a Japanese at all, but a plant from China trying to spread the seeds of Cultural Marxism. As you know everything goes with the Communists, Buddhism, Paganism, Judaism, everything is fine, except that one religion which is Christianity. It must have been a treasure trove find for Scorsese, this book by Endo, to finally direct a movie which puts Christianity away as a religion for fools only. What else can one expect from a movie director whose genre has seen so much cruelty and violence. But the worst of it is that the Chinese -- who are currently reportedly on the brink of purchasing all of the remaining Hollywood Movie production houses in one swoop -- seem to have the last of the remaining Irish Catholic actors, Liam Neeson, lined inside their pockets as well, ironically in the same way as depicted inside Scorsese's Silence. The 2 hour and 40 minute sit through is not only a disgrace for Christ but for Japan as well. Maybe it's time for the Christian Knights to gird up their loins and ride again to rid humanity from this evil filth for all times to come.
Merchants of Doubt (2014)
Merchants of Doubt is exactly what this Docu does
This documentary is as false and phony as it is possible to create such a vehicle. They start of with the notion that the smoking of tobacco causes lung cancer. There is however not a single scientific article published which shows a correlation between the smoking of tobacco and subsequently retrieving lung cancer. Then they go on to argue that the evidence for the thesis that smoking causes lung cancer is found inside internal documents from the seven big corporations of Tobacco. Public relations firm Hill and Knowlton reportedly said to the heads of all the big tobacco companies: "You can't deny the evidence. You can't say smoking doesn't cause cancer. But what you can do is cast doubt." This sentence, as is found inside a report from the big Tobacco corporations, is definite proof according the makers of this documentary that "smoking causes cancer". It is however still not a valid scientific proof. The ultimate doubt was of course the public testimony "I believe nicotine is not addictive." "The tobacco issue broke into the public consciousness in 1953", the same year as the National Security Agency (NSA) was founded. Rumors have it that the NSA was in fact founded by the Russian KGB as their North American head office. It was also the year that all wars ever since fought by the US Army were lost or tied up in sometimes the most strange ways. 1953 was also the year where the KGB started to kill off their CIA opponents by handing out poisoned cigarettes. The makers then arrive at yet another precarious carbon related issue, that of Global Warming. Again the narrative of Merchants of Doubt states that Global Warming is for real. In 1988 a physicist Dr. James Hansen working as a scientist at NASA came to the conclusion that the planet Venus was so hot at 600 degrees because of the greenhouse effect. CO2 amplifies and stores heat. Venus has 96.5% carbon dioxide and hence the conclusion has since been, if we want to fight Global Warming we need to put a halt to increasing CO2 levels. What the makers of the documentary seem to leave out is that CO2 levels on our planet Earth are very very low in comparison, and hence can never explain a thing like Global Warming. As a matter of fact according Ian Plimer, a professor in Geology, current levels of CO2 are less than 0.4%, and if through sequestering of CO2, according the Paris Climate Change Treaty, the level is halved to 0.2% we would have no terrestrial plants at all, because then the Osmotic pressure of CO2 would become to low and the process of Photosynthesis and hence the production of oxygen and growth of plants would seize to function. The Adderall Diaries (2015)
Add Adderall and nothing is what it seems
Hans Reiser gets hooked on a Russian asset, a woman from Saint Petersburg. Reiser is the golden boy from Linux with his Reiser file-system and company Namesys. He has two children with Nina, but "Before her disappearance, Nina Reiser had obtained Russian citizenship for her daughter and son in 2005 and 2006 respectively" . Forensics and LAPD play ball with the Russians and Hans Reiser is arrested for traces of Nina's blood in his car and charged with 1st degree murder. This was a total setup by LAPD and the Forensics department. The charge won't go away and a plea bargain for 2nd degree murder is given if Reiser leads the police to the body of Nina. This then happens (which amazes me to this day) : "Reiser's attorney, William Du Bois, who was handcuffed to Reiser and accompanied by a heavy police guard to the site, said that the remains were found buried on the side of a hill between Redwood Regional Park and the Huckleberry Botanic Regional Preserve, less than half a mile from the home on Exeter Drive where Reiser lived with his mother, and where Nina Reiser was last seen alive on September 3, 2006.(Lee, Henry K.; Jaxon Van Derbeken; Chronicle Staff Writers (2008-07-07). "Wife-killer leads cops to body in deal with D.A.". SFGate. p. A-1.) Forensics of Nina's body conclude that she was strangled to death. So what was the fuss with Nina's blood planted on purpose in Hans Reiser's car ? Reiser gets 15 years to life in San Quentin State Prison and has been transferred numerous times across the California prison system ever since. "In July 2012, a jury awarded Reiser's children $60 million against their father for the death of Nina Reiser." The Russians have not stopped drinking vodka in Saint Petersburg ever since. The day will come that royalties, copyright amendments and ownership are due for the work of Hans Reiser. The Russians already know today that they will be the sole heirs and beneficiaries to the work of Hans Reiser. In other Linux related news it was reported that on 28 December 2015 the founder of Debian Linux, Ian Murdock, was killed in his apartment under suspicious circumstances. On 9 Mar 2016 Linux hackers were kindly summoned to put their coffees down and listen up as Microsoft had just launched a Debian Linux-based switch operating system.
Regression (2015)
The Soup Lady doesn't exist, case closed
Ethan Hawke and The Weinstein Company really want to hammer an important message down with this movie. Regression as a therapy produces faulty memory recalls from the persons subconscious. Near the end the Lady holding a soup bowl turns out to be a fictional person which doesn't exist in the real world. Says who ? If SRA is such a gross entire society encompassing phenomenon, why would the grandmaster not have such a Soup Lady available, as the perfect cover and deflection ? Agreed regression is not a tool to be used with a criminal investigation, but why would the detective not pay a visit to the advertising company to find out where the Soup Lady has its origins? If the objective of this movie is to debouch Satanic Ritual Abuse as a fictional only entity which only exists in movie theaters depicting creations from the Hammer Studios, then the convincing argument is weak. Why would there not somewhere exist a woman who as a small time actress earns some extra cash from a Soup Commercial ? Right after the second world war a US Congress senator made the abhorring discovery that the US Screen Actors Guild was nothing but a cover for international communism. A finding which just like SRA was instantly heavily suppressed, and while-st trying to conduct a successful congressional hearing, the Senator was totally destroyed in public and private life instead.
Third Person (2013)
Loutish money laundering effort
A Pulitzer price winner spends 1000 Euro's a day in a Paris Hotel suite to write a novel which is actually a biographic diary of a women who has a ongoing sexual relationship with her father. The movie director received around $30 million to complete the movie with its stellar cast (Kim Bassinger and Liam Neeson amongst others). After a long sit through of 2 hours and 10 minutes I decided to send a two week notice to the funding corporation Corsan, warning that after watching Third Person, the viewer can only judge this movie as a veiled attempt to slush millions of dollars into shady bank accounts of Unknown Persons. The end result can only be seen as a loutish expose of rats on a Euro carnage spending spree, both inside and outside the movie. The entire cast and film crew of course were staying in the same hotel as Liam Neeson, where a routine day of shooting could be witnessed on the top floor with the rolling of the main camera on wheels from the Director's hotel room into Mr. Neeson's hotel suite.
Everest (2015)
Everest takes top tour-guides and has last word
This movie is well shot and a dire warning to mountaineering freaks that in the end only Everest rules, which is illustrated in the opening scene. Because no man made air propelled flying machine is able to elevate high enough to get a top down shot of the Everest, the highest viewpoint is taken at the balcony level. The Russian guy knows whats coming and refuses to rely on oxygen bottles as aid to battle the height. In the spring of 1996 two truckloads of people are aspiring to reach the Everest summit and a discussion arises how to manage all these climbers within the same two week window to the top. Anatoli Boukreev says "We don't need competition between people. There is only competition between every person and this mountain. The last word always belongs to the mountain." The story of Texas American Beck Weathers (Josh Brolin) is very well covered in this movie, who complains to tour-guide Hall that for a $65,000 fee he doesn't expect to queue up to cross a death pass like standing in line at some Wall Mart's. After that Beck is on his own, literally, a very telling experience. The aim for summit is planned on May 10th, by both tour-guides, Rob Hall and Scott Fischer, and leads to heated verbiage and risk taking actions. When first climber reaches summit, Everest has seen enough little hands and feet of this commercial climbing parade and a devastating storm hits all base camps simultaneously which endures for two days. The end checks and balances in loss of life and limbs are devastating. Everest has spoken and has the last word.
Calvary (2014)
Irish perversion
If a man is ordained into the priesthood, he is a officer of the faith, and God will never allow him to place his head on the lamb's altar. When an abused boy grows into manhood, but never healing from his wounds, the priest will never be allowed to put his head down in front of the barrel and die, when the priest is without sins for God. So i really wonder who came up with this nasty piece of HD Color celluloid and Dolby Digital sound as it is rather damaging for the Church and the Christian faith in general. The question remains, was the innocent Priest without sins before God? Father James was married before becoming a priest. Only in the case of bigamy Father James would be guilty. In canon law bigamy was the marrying of two virgins successively, or one after the death of the other, or once marrying a widow. This disqualified a man for orders, and for holding ecclesiastical offices. But this was clearly not the case. People at home today who have the opinion that all these laws to prevent the 12 perversions are from past times, should not be fooled, as without them mankind in end-times will meet the same fate as Father James.
Gone Girl (2014)
Stunning Peace of Work
Indeed David Fincher did it again. At the surface the movie script resembles a totally over the top fictitious story which could never happen for real, with the Find Amy Trust Fund and the nightly press coverage. Only occasionally once in a decade such a thing could happen in America but in the rare event it does the missing girl is either never found back or found dead. Press coverage of such events is these days mostly brought as aftermath after finding a dead body. Inside Gone Girl the audience is presented with a 'live' kidnapping where the wealthy parents within 24 hours setup a website with a trust-fund to find their Amy back, including day to day press coverage, like we have seen from the Madeleine McCann case. Gone Girl kept me watching for two hours and thirty minutes without even feeling the need for a break for a smoke or drink, which likewise only happens to me once in a decade. People who followed the McCann disappearance will no doubt do the same. A warning is at place though as the ending is quite unusual and will put-off a lot of McCannies including Amy's husband Ben Affleck who plays his amicable role as the Missouri husband very nicely. After watching the viewer will finally understand why it is that real rapers and sexual abusers never burn their hands on women like amazing Amy Elliot, and aim for the homeless and orphans instead. Is Gone Girl a movie which is only produced occasionally once in a decade ? It depends whether or not Hollywood is interested in doing a blockbuster about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann featuring its real details, which is no fairy tale as the Portugese Police department has made the entire dossier material available to the public, which has never happened before during the entire documented history of Interpol, Europol or the Metropolitan Police combined.
Redline (2007)
Redline is the real deal
Shortly after the Box-office premiere of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift in 2006, which was a real let-down to the All American crowd, Las Vegas backed Chicago Pictures released in the same genre a movie called Redline, where way more expensive cars and wagers are scripted as in the Fast and Furious movies. Redline starts ravishing with a Lamborghini, where speeds are towed up well above 200 mph, resulting in the state-troopers Fat-boy Harley get blown over by the created wind storm, and cannot instigate the pursuit. At night speeds are likewise towed up well passed 200 mph for the same purpose, but guess what, the driver switches off his headlights and uses standard issue night goggles from the Iraq war to see where he's driving. Night goggles in the Las Vegas desert at night driving a 200mph car ? My gut tells me it has happened, where from time to time only a Redline in the desert at night can be observed. This may seem far fetched and over the top, but if your driving over 200 mph on a public road you are responsible for everything else on the road as other traffic will never see you coming in time, at broad daylight and night. Switching of the headlights is then the equivalent of flying under the radar at night. The movie is centered around some heavy fat cats from Las Vegas who from time to time hold car races where millions are deposited as wager straight from their offshore cayman bank accounts. Redline is clearly intended as a fun ride focusing on expensive cars and women, with blue eyed Natasha (Nadia Bjorlin) as the eye catcher who is truly stealing the show and race. If you like to see real fast cars in real action Redline is the one to watch.
The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (2005)
The Three Rotten Burials
Rotten tomatoes all over the place, a minimum of 85% muchos amigo! You see , the great Melquiades Estrada was good friends of Tommie Lee Jones. And you see, such a good friend , he took care that Melquiades got his Mel fuckie fuckie with nice white woman from Border Patrol man . You understand ? If the right honorable Tommie Lee Jones ever comes to TX make sure you beat the craps out of the man, demand he pays $3000 upfront for the cross border fee to Mexico, and kick his ass south right across the border for a retirement without the right to return. The smell of Melquiades Estrada's rotten corpse riddled with anti-freeze and alcohol is still emanating from that self declared town of Jiménez to all the last lost and destitute corners of Mexico. The way the white college boy from Minnesota is mistreated and humiliated inside Three Burials was in old times never observed with folk like John Wayne. At the same time Three Burials is hailed with the NYTimes movie review, Rotten tomatoes awards and even Christian Today in a way that doesn't bode well for the future of TX. The Bill of Rights and declaration of independence was written in English and not Spanish. There is a reason for that. How does civilized spell in Spanish ? After watching this one, i don't even want to know.
3 Days to Kill (2014)
Dancing Wolf hunts down East-German Wolf
Ethan Renner (Kevin Kostner) is on assignment to take down 'The Wolf' (Richard Sammel) but in the last moment he is heavily weakened due to complications of a cancer in his body and fails his mission. 'The Wolf' is a German speaking arms trafficker who trades nuclear materials. The CIA taking down the German speaking 'Wolf' is a interesting story, as the most feared spy behind the iron curtain was once a guy by the name of the 'Silver Fox' Markus Wolf. For most of his career, Wolf was known as "the man without a face" due to his elusiveness. It was reported that Western agencies did not know what the East German spy chief looked like until 1978, when he was photographed by Säpo, Sweden's National Security Service, during a visit to Sweden. An East German defector, Werner Stiller, then identified Wolf to West German counter-intelligence as the man in the picture. Interesting inside 3 Days to Kill, the same troublesome situation is at hand, as Renner and all of his bosses at CIA have no clue what Wolf looks like. In real life 'The Wolf' was "head of the General Intelligence Administration (Hauptverwaltung Aufklärung), the foreign intelligence division of East Germany's Ministry for State Security (MfS, commonly known as the Stasi). He was the MfS's number two for 34 years, which spanned most of the Cold War. Many intelligence experts regard him as one of the greatest spy-masters of all time. Basically the final taking out of 'The Wolf' keeps failing time over time again. Rumors go that at one time during the 2nd term of the Bush 43 administration CIA grew so desperate that a fishing attempt was made : In December of 2004 Ex-Stasi spy chief Markus Wolf was apparently to be hired by Homeland Security : The admission that Wolf would be hired was made in a BBC radio interview given by the former head of the KGB, General Yevgeni Primakov. Previously it was reported that Primakov had been hired as a consultant by the US Department of Homeland Security to complete the 'Sovietization' of America. Later it turned out all to have been attempts only, with the purpose to obtain up to date information about Markus Wolf, who in 2006 dies in his sleep at his home in Germany. Since Wolf's death - confirmation of natural cause is still lacking - it has been promulgated that Wolf was simply living a quiet life as a retired former head of East German secret service. Interestingly in 3 Days to Kill the audience is repeatedly confronted with the notion that a old spy living through a quiet retirement is nothing but a fairy tale. So 3 Days to Kill certainly has some strong hidden pointers to the real spy story of Markus Wolf, where the movie script at the surface is nothing but a fun ride with a red hot spy girl Vivi Delay (Amber Heard) and Renner trying to reunite his family to classic family values.
The Ghost Writer (2010)
a revealing political thriller of the hors category
Rhinehart Inc., a large publishing company, recruits an unnamed British ghostwriter (Ewan McGregor) to complete the memoirs of former Prime Minister Adam Lang (Pierce Brosnan). The writer travels to the fictional Massachusetts village of Old Haven on Martha's Vineyard, where Lang is staying with his wife, Ruth (Olivia Williams) in the house of Marty Rhinehart, the company owner, and a staff of servants and security personnel. Rhinehart is allowing the new ghost four weeks to get the story straight. A very interesting detail is inside the selecting of Martha's Vineyard as the main resort where the story takes place. Inside the movie Spartan with Val Kilmer where secret service attempts to enforce a customized reality about the under-aged daughter of the U.S President upon the main stream press, the script also mentions this Island resort. Someone reviewed that there are some very sloppy details inside Polanski's movie like these "badly-photo-shopped" pictures. Why would the new ghost fall for such a obvious diversion ? One should remember that he was handpicked. Supposedly four men before him were turned down. But no Rhinehart Publishing Inc. wanted this guy, he was hand-picked, because they didn't want a too smart ass completing the job and certainly not with wife and kids waiting at home. Conveniently inside the movie he is not given a name and as Rhinehart had his CIA dossier already in their possession, they could already anticipate what that average dude would do next. These are exactly the guys who get hired for $250,000,= in a eye blink and a four weeks notice. As the old ghost, and former longtime associate of the PM, leaked war-crimes evidence to the press, the new ghost is hired as part of some damage control. What is relevant is that the very damaging collateral of a former PM needs to be whitewashed inside a biography, which must then in turn result in clean slates for all organizations and peoples involved. The ex-army dude (David Rintoul) who lost his son in the Iraq war, has most probable been played as well by CIA with fancy photo-shopped material, and knows what such a guy will do next, if security does not stop him from doing so ... Well security at the airport "apparently" had not seen the ex-army veteran, so the PM gets shot. Not bad for the upcoming book-sales of Rhinehart Inc. Interestingly on the day of the assassination the four weeks notice for the ghost is dropped to two. As Google is the top tool of secret service and NSA, Google most of the time knows at forehand who is searching, and can if needed add and/or remove search results to fulfill the desired agenda. Suppose they wanted the new ghost to find out that Emmett is CIA, just like they want these photo-shopped pictures to be taken for real? The only strange thing at first viewing is the relationship of the ghost with the PM's wife because you don't know the PM's wife is a CIA asset. The final setup of the new ghost is done when he gets the hint from Amelia Bly (Kim Cattrall), again after becoming personal, that the beginnings of McAra's original manuscript form a hidden message. He starts checking and then finds that message. Rhinehart and CIA handpicked this guy, and know for almost 99% certainty what he will do next or not. Ruth has been instructed to have sex with the ghost. The publishing company then anticipates the ghost, as a stand-up guy, will attempt to inform Ruth and know they next will have to take the new ghost out. A highly intriguing movie which does not get produced/directed every decade. Inside Spartan Val Kilmer stays behind in London, Roman selected Paris as his residence long time ago.
Blue Jasmine (2013)
Not a silly remake of 'A Streetcar Named Desire'
Blue Jasmine is a possible scenario of what happened to the wife of a Wall-street business man, who compared to the Wulf of Wall-street, was not only way richer, but also the man where, for instance, the entire Security and Exchange Commission Department looked up to. Hall was the man who did things right, for starters taking Jasmine as his wife. According Allen's movie Hall could not keep his fingers from other women, where it took quite some time for Jasmine to find out. Of course Jasmine knew that Hall needed her for his business, to get these blue ink autographs on Southworth dried up in a sane environment, but thats what the Wall-street business has been about since its inception. Don't blame Hall and certainly don't blame Jasmine, its the times that have changed. In the movie the trigger for Jasmine to call the FBI apparently was when Jasmine was getting lectured by Hall, that she would be getting a divorce. In the first days of news reporting when Bernie got cuffed the story was that his two sons made the call, after finding out about their father's ponzi scheme. But Woody Allen, a wise man, already knew that this must have been the most naive ever fairy-tale written up. Blanchett is like 'eine augenweide' inside the movie, and nails what can happen to such a once wonderful woman brilliantly. As said, its the times that have changed. Last thing i read, was, that its now the Chinese who own One Chase Manhattan Plaza.
The Art of War II: Betrayal (2008)
A must see and own Snipes collectors item
Someone reviewed with 'Wesley Snipes Means No Budget These Days...', which might even be the case , but the Art of War II really means business. What Hollywood blockbuster of recent years made - or even tried to make - a mockery of the Homeland Security Department ? Not many except for this one. Although the timing, as is the case with Sun Tzu's art of war, of getting the Homeland Security rats cornered inside an abandoned ship can never be predicted accurate to the micro second, Snipes does a remarkable job of taking them out. The expose of the Homeland Security rats inside 'The Art of War II: Betrayal' apparently was painful enough to force the producers to back out to Canada and subsequently into an immediate for Video release only, instead of movies theaters. So yes, the 1 star only reviews are a interesting read when it concerns Sun Tzu's Art of War part II : Betrayal, where the movie ending would even surprise the Master himself. Even though the cliché about Senators taking bribes from an upstart Arms Research company may, at first sight, not seem that shocking, Snipes delivers as expected inside an interesting movie, which was forced across the Homeland Security border in order to get it released. One should really wonder what or who forced this to happen. Conclusion : The DVD box of this one is a collectors item.
Only God Forgives (2013)
a Commie movie flick
Ever heard about a singing police chief from Bangkok, by the name of Chang, who never bothered with prosecutors, courtrooms, or anything else but only justice if it was from his own sword? If that sounds familiar, this is the one movie to watch. A very strange and sinister odor comes from this piece of HD celluloid. If its a digital only mastering they might get away with this piece of filth. The indigenous people of Bangkok must have been shivering for this wannabe Thai dude ever since the ending of World War II. When Chang sings he stands in front of a Calligraphic painting of the Chinese wall. That got me thinking. Are we are watching a Chinese police officer where his audience of uniformed police officers are just some renegade outpost squad from the Communist Republic of China, i.e. Chinese NKVD in Thai Police uniform? Currently the news is that types of the same nasty caliber have committed a state coup in Thailand. After watching this I really wonder what that is all about. Something is really wrong and rotten with 'Only God Forgives'. The movie ends with Ryan Gosling, the one son who was actually not the evil hateful type, getting his arms slashed off, by way of justice by Chang, the Thai Chief of Police wannabe from Chinese variety and Communist hatch. As finale Chang sings yet another song for his death squad. By naming the movie 'Only God Forgives' it's suggested that Chang and his squad might get away with their actions, but after watching i get a sense that involved script writers, producers and directors have absolutely not a single clue about these things.
Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014)
Jack Ryan : Showdown Recruit
After leaving the movie theater and finished watching, the audience is mesmerized. Why would the Russians go for the same 911 recipe from 12 years earlier ? Because thats what the thickened plot is showing. "Oh well ist Jack Ryan : What your do expect ? Tom Clancy ?" The only way Paramount will ever recuperate from this movie flick, is by hiring at least two hundred private eyes, where most of them should be former alphabet agency, and start a private investigation into what went wrong in 2012/13 with Tom Clancy. Publish a book about this, which directly is converted in a classified movie-script - as Clancy's death details are likewise - and release the result in non-US theaters and Video rentals. The discussion and rumors are silently swelling. Is todays entire Federal Government already a covert secret run operation by the Russians ? The dumb-down level of this movie is even insulting the intelligence level of third grade juniors.
Knife Fight (2012)
Knife Fight with Battle Hymn of the Republic
To get elected in office, according to 'Knife Fight', all which is found outside the conventional playbook of politics should be given opportunity, for the good candidate to become governor elected. Even if there's collateral damage attached to the level of having a college girl's life ruined, upto attempted suicides. The far-out morals choices reported today in Washup DC Politics have apparently spread out to Nation, State and County Politics Campaign affairs, where the subversion apparently has sunken back to the level of Roman Empire days, when Julius was stabbed by Brutus. The mantra of fighting crime by hiring even more dangerous criminals is something which has today infected all kinds of aspects of life, where by all means good, bad, legal and or violating state laws, will give the good Lady or Lord the much aspired seat if High Office. This is the theme which is extensively illustrated inside 'Knife Fight' where the end result seems OK. There is one downer though. When the end titles run a small parody of the Battle Hymn of the Republic is played. This is sadly one step beyond the much admired seat in the office of Hollywood fame.
Faster (2010)
This TRI STAR release Rocks
Faster features Dwayne "The Rock and Metal Plate" Johnson as the inmate who furiously gears in a GTO towards his first vengeance hit within two hours after his release on parole. And before the viewer has time to drop his stunning and allow himself to ask "What do we got?" , Driver jaywalks across the street, forcing all traffic to stop , enters some office and pops a 45 through the head of the first snitch on his payed for hit-list. Faster makes the various shootings which have happened since 2010, and who many rumor happened to overthrow the 2nd amendment, look like some amateur practice. Faster even makes surveillance dudes with NSA and FBI drop their jaws, and apparently has these men forget all about putting out a nationwide search warrant for the Driver's arrest. One wonders if a movie like Faster will ever be made again, most surely after the press whining when Gangster Squad got released shortly after Sandy Hook. This movie over time will surely become a cult classic. You know it, Tom "The Sniper" Berenger and even Billy Bob "The Sleep-over Bandit" Thorton know that. A strange oddity though is that hit-man for hire, Killer with a Brit accent in his Ferrari, running around to take-down the Driver for only one Dollar. Can you believe that?
Le capital (2012)
Très bien Banking Thriller
When the executive director of a French bank orders his boy squad to commit insider trading in order to save the French bank from getting sharked by a Miami hedge fund, who happen to also be the French-American connection dudes (American board members) from the same French bank, he not only gets away with it, by presenting la evidence of the Miami crooks to La Securities and Exchange Commission in New York, he is also reaffirmed as the new tru CEO and receives the Médaille d'honneur pour acte de courage et de dévouement from the French President. In their banking world the equal of saving The President as that medal of honor decorated Secret Service agent in White House Down. Sadly this doesn't happen of course, as, how clear the due diligence of a Secret Service agent can be, the due diligence of a Banker CEO is never revealed. Its evident that inside Le Capital the French Presidential Decoration also never happens. On his way in saving the French Bank he not only hires his personal ex-Commissaire de police for the collection of insider information, several decoys and bogies pop-up like a severely heroin addicted American fashion model. For the viewer another bogy is on the road, as the spoken language is freaking fast French, which your closed caption subtitles are hardly able to keep pace with.
Man of Steel (2013)
Unbendable
Excellent movie. Good for a Triple A Plus Moody rating. So 10 stars. Now to the downside, which are the off target rounds. A question is asked to Kal-El [ Did they loose it at Time-Warner? ] : What does the S stand for ? What then follows is a very damaging bull-crap tale, even for the many young kids watching. Don't insult their intelligence. The correct answer should have been : The S? Well we on Krypton were created by two men : Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The initials of both our founding fathers are thus the same : J.S. Our latest era has been created by Zack Snyder, a misnomer of Jack Snyder, so in principal also J.S., but as the signs of our times correctly predicted, he changed into Zack Snyder. Zack will never admit to that and was actually intimidated a bit by general Zod. The end times for the Superman series will arrive when Hollowood cannot come up anymore with decent director/producers, albeit types designated Joe Shmo. The title of the movie, Man of Steel, also reflects how the S brand has descended into muddy legal waters, even more as the marvelous Iron trade-mark has emerged in recent years, featuring tireless Stan Lee, not to be mistaken for some Stainless Steel Tool.
Margaret (2011)
teenage trouble
After a long sit through, i finished watching, and I must thank the director for his courage to release this to the theater. It's sometimes very slow pace seems to have become outlawed these days. Also thanks for the very beautiful snippets of top class opera. Well actually we should thank Mr. Jean Reno for this to happen. So please be advised and take to heart that when a man like Reno has to ponder something about Palestine, Israel and the jews, as a jewisch citizen of New York with an apartment looking down at Central Park, at least try to be a humble person instead of throwing wine on his nice suit. This can be most damaging to the heart for a man like Reno and where he is coming from. And indeed the next day Reno had a heart attack and the funeral thereafter. You simply don't treat people like this. It reminds me of that Russian mob boss who in rage killed his own chef and the next day is forced to have dinner out. The movie certainly has struck a nerve of recent days and times, when Lisa tries to tell her story in good faith, she is only heading for trouble and gets kicked out, She even gets expelled from class when yet another baseless discussion row is started with her class mate from Syria. Margaret is a very nice shot movie about a young jewisch girl triggered into teenage trouble by being a first responder witness to a traumatic bus accident.
Pain & Gain (2013)
"true story" which got abused
The movie is based on a true story. Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely based their screenplay script on three magazine articles inside the Miami New Times by Pete Collins. Collins sold his tale of the Sun Gym gang to Paramount Studios and director Michael Bay, where he as a investigative journalist, and magazine writer wrote the thing up more as 14 years ago. There is however something very wrong with the movie. And that is its casting which is very very bad and wrong. Not that Wahlberg, Dwayne "the rock" Johnson and Anthony Mackie are bad actors, but they have not the slightest resemblance with the real criminals. At the end pictures of the real criminals are shown. Thats when the ball dropped on me. They look like a couple of Columbian guys, who extorted/tortured and robbed a Jew who says he was from Columbia. The real identity and picture of Victor Kershaw remains however unknown. This movie could very well have been a whitewash of propped up evidence and created versions of events. Prove me wrong. Collins has however a eBook for download.
