Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)
Mystical magic.
This is one of my favourite Marvel origin films.
The storyline, visuals, the cast, fight and stunt scenes were amazing. In fact I'd say it was beautiful and respectfully made.
Simu is perfect as Shang-Chi, sorry I doubted his casting as kept thinking of Jung from Kim's Convenience (good show).
Free Guy (2021)
Sweetly fun
Sweet (Ryan Reynolds) and heartwarming.
Good casting, really enjoyed it lots of laughs and feel good moments.
The Walking Dead: Here's Negan (2021)
Negan
I have conflicted feelings about Negan but this was a beautiful episode, moreso as Lucille was played by his actual wife Hilarie.
I didn't hate all the other extra episodes and didn't think them necessary apart from this one.
For the first time in The Walking Dead history I'm up to date with episodes and can't wait for the final season to begin, roll on season 11!
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Popcorn alien fun
Decided to watch this on a lazy Sunday 4 July afternoon and was pleasantly surprised.
Yes a bit cheesy in places with the sort of funny yet intelligent side kick and the hard core military team but there's lots of action and the cgi is quite good. I get people's frustrations with some of the plot eg Dan's character and his future daughter just take with a pinch of salt and enjoy.
I only knew about Chris Pratt after watching Guardians when it came out and have always liked Yvonne in Chuck.
If you watch this as a bit of fun then I'm sure you'll like it, perfect Sunday movie action.
Time (2021)
Time
Wonderful show with two fantastic leads in Sean Bean and Stephen Graham.
Found it hard going at times not because it was bad but because I was worried for the characters, especially Mark as it's pretty intense and often moving.
Definitely deserves all the plaudits, beautifully written, acted everything.
Well done all.
24: Live Another Day (2014)
Jack in Ole London town
8.5
Love this miniseries so much, would love there to be another series in this format. The 12 episodes work brilliantly, so much action in dreary ole London, car chases and shootouts etc.
I won't give anything away but it had me on the edge of my seat for all 12 episodes. The last 10 minutes of the final episode had me feeling emotional as I've watched this plus the main series back to back over the last few weeks and knew it wouldn't be quite the happy ending we'd all hoped for.
Thank goodness for all the Jack Bauers in the world who allow us to sleep well at night.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021)
Sam n Bucky
Series 1 review...
Really great show takes a couple of episodes and has a dark feeling to it, similar to Endgame, completely different (in a good way) to Wandavision.
I like the bromance between Sam n Bucky, being Cap's best friends so to speak and not everything is about being a hero, we get to see real life situations dealing with family, other friendships and life in general.
Fingers crossed for another series will wait for my other favourite 'Loki' to grace our screens.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: One World, One People (2021)
We CAN do better
I've absolutely loved the last 3 episodes and this was fantastic in every way. Lots of action, drama and yeah you could tell what was coming but so what. Sam's speech gave me goosebumps, really felt what he was saying.
Brilliant last few minutes with Issiah, had me in tears feeling the emotion of it all.
Please make another series, end title, credits and soundtrack gave me chills.
Line of Duty: Episode #6.2 (2021)
Hasting's catchphrase of the day
She was just a wee girl, killed in cold blood,"
"She'll be laughing on the other side of her face when I'm finished with her...
Yes Hastings!
How to Get Away with Murder: Stay (2020)
Whoooooa
Now that is how you end a series.
Absolutely fantastic in every way. I felt so sad about Frank (my fav character) and Bonnie, it didn't have to be that way.
Top notch writing from day one, intense, funny, clever and as for Viola, just wow!
WandaVision: The Series Finale (2021)
If Carlsberg made epic series finales....
I always liked Vision but never really sold on Wanda, after watching this series I've changed my mind.
This finale had everything, action, emotion and yes I had a lump in my throat towards the end. We never think about those that make the ultimate sacrifice do we?
Great Post credit scenes, sets up nicely for the next MCU films or perhaps another series....
Drifters (2013)
Funny but gross
Drifters is funny, inappropriate and completely gross some at times.
It is worrying that there are people like Meg out there in the big wide world but definitely worth the laugh.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 16: The Rescue (2020)
I'm an absolute wreck!
Are TV shows meant to make you feel this way?
Action packed full of hope, emotion, fear, laughs and tears I felt so sad yet happy watching this episode bawling like a cry baby.
Make sure you watch to the end past the credits...
Vikings: King of Kings (2020)
This episode gave me chillllssss (8.5!)
Very emotional episode, you know I felt the same sadness with Bjorn's death as I did with Ragnar's. I didn't feel that with my favourite character Lagatha.
Excited to watch the rest of the final season of one of my favourite shows.
Prefer the old intro music to this new one, it isn't bad just the old score is so bada$$!
Lucifer: Spoiler Alert (2020)
Lucifer is definitely back
Awwweesom episode.
This episode had everything, good fight scenes, emotion, detective work.
Helloooooooo father! Bring on part two as I'm ready and waiting.
Blood of Zeus (2020)
The Blood of Zeus
Absolutely fantastic I'm geeking out for this stuff. Menacing soundtrack also kept me hooked and I binged all the episodes, pleeeeeeease make another series.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Live long and most definitely prosper
An interesting take in the Star Trek universe. I'd say season 1 was a 6/7 for me and season 2 a solid 8. My favourite characters are Saru and Pike but I'm loving this version of Spock as well. Michael gets a lot of hate, if you don't like the character, actress or plot then do your mental health a favour, stop watching and forget about it. No show is perfect and yes sometimes things don't make sense, people act really really stupid but just switch off and enjoy the ride as the Universe is under no obligation to make sense to you....
Star Trek: Discovery: Saints of Imperfection (2019)
Comms badge
Good episode but I hate when characters stand around talking instead of escaping!
Anyone else also notice Tilly's comms badge appeared on the opposite side around 25 mins or so in? Continuity people, continuity.
Designated Survivor: The Blueprint (2016)
Hoping people would act differently in real lofe
Quite like this show but the good guys seem to run into a lot of stressful bad luck.
Probably should wait for ep10 but if you have something to tell someone send a photo of the evidence or an email as well as meeting in person as you never know what may happen...
Locke & Key: Dissection (2020)
Pathetic
Lordy Lord Lord.
I know TV shows and movies like to keep you hooked and not give anything away too early or solve mysteries right away but this was ridiculous. No one in the Locke family has any god damn sense, try calling the police or something. Pick up the gun or perhaps the sodding key, hey I dunno. 1 star only because the first part was ok otherwise 0, nil point, big fat nothing.
Absolutely absurd and has done nothing to help my alopecia.
Can't even be bothered to say anything else as will depress myself. If I lived in that town I get the hell outta Dodge (no pun intended).
