StanleyKubrick2001's rating
This movie only caters to one audiences, namely the ones that grew up in the 60s listening to The Beatles, the rest of us (beatles fans) are lulled into seeing the movie because of the title. The movie offers us very little in terms of entertainment or laughter, unless your a teenager and are just now discovering how big The Beatles where back in the day.
It's a coming of age flick that has a feel-good vibe and a Beatles backdrop, but thats it. Was expecting more from a movie that uses such a strong title, a title that is loaded with so much emotion and joy for so many of us.
Summary, go see it if you grew up with The Beatles in the 60s or if your curious on how huge The Beatles where in those days.
The rest of you, put on a Beatles play-list and stay at home.

I expected so much more from James Rolfe and his crew. This "movie" ended up being much of nothing and a little of something. I would rather have watched a long episode of AVGN.
My biggest issue is the fact that the scripts is all messed up and the directing is all over the place. 99% of the scenes are not original, just rehashed gags from other movies, and stuffed with countless cliché's. With a budget of nearly 400K and two young writers i expected much more, at least in terms of originality
This movie is not even for the fans, let's get that straight. I doesn't resemble any AVNG episodes or anything James has done before.
In the end this movie is just someone's pet project, namely James Rolfes. I think the AVNG owes fans more, this movie was payed for by the fans, but i think we where short-changed.

Although being a Norwagian WWII film, Max Manus has that international appeal because it's about something the whole world experienced.
Following Max and his saboteur friends is a real pleasure and a very realistic depiction of the occupation of Norway. It's the first time i have seen a Norwagian film of this "epic" quality and i hope we get more in the future.
If you have seen a lot of WWII movies don't think this will be just another one. This one gives you a take on the more hidden parts of the war and follows a small resistance group trying to save their small country from one of the biggest empires the world has seen.
So in conclusion i would recommend anyone interested in good foreign films or just good historical films in general.
