The idea of the show is so new and fresh, the plot is really thrilling , the pilot went sensational on the Mysteries from start to finish ,, you won't stop asking questions, the screenplay appeared strong and tightly written,, the story itself seems to organized they bring you all the crimes and then connecting them all together. Soo Hugh is not new on the Sci-Fi writings he's written some for "Under the Dome" and "The River" but i feel this one is gonna be something different ,, and i mean fantastically different and really intriguing and catchy from the first 5 minutes.
As for the cast, you gotta love Milo Ventimiglia (Peter from Heroes :D) he's so fit for this role here,, Lily Rabe and Barry Sloane are doing a fairly good job so far,, and the little Kids .. bravo ,.
Overall,, ABC has cancelled Forever last month , and i think they're somehow replacing it with this ,, and even though this show is more into seriousness drama and sci-fi ,, i think they will make it work flawlessly with such high ratings. ,, again this network have so much experience for picking up a huge thrilling full of mysteries shows,, so lets hope for the sake of us the audiences that this is one of them ;)

I, like a lot of the reviewers, didn't think much of the show when it first began. The first couple of episodes were quite confusing and left the impression that this was going to be one of those dull shows with sluggish plots that take ten episodes to tell a story that could have been told in three - I was wrong.
After the first few episodes the show eventually began to open up and everything started to make sense. The show goes from a confusing series of unrelated events into one big brilliant interwoven plot that leaves you wanting more. Although a lot of what's going on remains a mystery, there is enough progress being made by the characters to keep you interested and entertained.
I see this show really making it big if it stays on it's current path. Definitely one of my favourites this year.
I advise anyone out there to give it at least 4 episodes before writing it off, you won't regret it.

In the spirit of unworldly enticement, The Whispers uses theme of enigmatic children who hear the calling of an imaginary friend. While it dabbles in mysterious premise, the visual is pleasantly bright and less brooding. The focus on children and their family opens new audience other than sci-fi fans, along with versatile cast, The Whispers offers a more accessible thriller.
It follows a simple concept of an unknown presence that talks only to children. People consider it as harmless fantasy before the message gets sinister. There's no gore or overly nasty scenes, this is a milder sci-fi show, which is understandable due to the delicate premise. However, it still presents a couple of eerie moments with just enough restrain and bizarre twist on the usually innocent children. The tone isn't as dark or gritty as other shows. In fact cinematography resembles usual drama shows. Setting is mainly in suburban neighborhood, with occasional venturing to more mysterious places. It looks decently suitable as the environment is recognizable, though might not awe audience with incredible shots of glamorous vista.
Acting department has an eclectic assembly of actors who has a lot of experience in drama or mystery. Milo Ventimiglia is a versatile actor, it's nice to see him in a more leading role. Furthermore, the show has a few similarities with Heroes which should be very familiar for him. Lily Rabe dons a commanding role, she appears strong, but might fall to the stereotypical tough woman. One of the better performances from the child actors belong to Kylie Rogers as Minx who seems eerily fitting as an indigo child.
The Whispers doesn't deliver the mystery with much intensity or grit. While this might deter fans of sci-fi or thriller fans, the overall production value is competent enough to deliver a dramatic puzzle.

I just watched the last two episodes back to back and I didn't want it to end!!! Absolutely incredible writing!!! Kudos to the writers for those two episodes!
There were a few flaws though but none the less it was incredibly entertaining and took my breath away! Any show that can fool the audience as to who the suspect is....Keep the audience on the edge of their seat and make them forget to breathe, is a show that deserves the best of reviews! I don't know why there were other reviews with negative views...Compared to most shows, The Whispers, rules!
I have the feeling of not being able to wait until next season! I'm hooked and cant wait to see how the second season pans out.
Also thanks to the cameraman for not making a shaky picture. Some shows really over shake the camera to bring on a different approach or feel of the scene but it's most often not needed.
Great show! Great actors!
Thank you for restoring my TV show interest!

I am a huge TV/movie person. I am always watching no less than half a dozen series at one time, although, I have never had a show that compelled me to stop and write a review. This show is the one. Not only do I get to see Peter from Heroes- but I get my fix of all that I crave in a good series(not in any particular order): conspiracy, action, violence, sex, tension, mystery, intrigue, betrayal, emotion... emotion- that is what did it for me. The last half of the series has an incredible build up. I cried. I held my breath. I stood motionless for 20 minutes in the middle of the room completely forgetting my banana and chocolate ice cream mission. It stuck in my brain for hours after and I caught myself humming the intro song today while cleaning. As a wife and as a mother this show reached down deep into fears and nightmares- hid in the shadows of morality and behind the doors of grief and loss..all while being wound so tight I have caught myself holding my breath and forgetting about ice cream. Who forgets about ice cream?? If your looking for a roller coaster ride that will suck you in, churn your stomach, twist your heart, and linger in your thoughts- this show is for you.
