Up front truth: Yes, it's got the whole made-for-tv level fluff going on. No, it doesn't even attempt to explore the gold mine of gritty details & intricacies that a real serial killer case of this kind would yield. If you're looking for graphic fare, you'll get none of that here. In these respects, this movie is exactly what you'd expect from LMN.
Now that I've laid out my disclaimer, I will say that I found Hunt For The Labyrinth Killer to be thoroughly entertaining & I would watch it again! I won't throw in any spoilers. Instead, I'll say, I hope you watch it & find yourself pleasantly surprised too.
Saw this one on LMN this week. All-in-all not a bad thriller to watch on a Sunday evening. Acting is better than expected and Amanda Schull stands out particularly. The movie starts out sort of like SCREAM where a famous actress (you can probably guess which one) gets whacked within the first 5 minutes. From there, lots of exposition in the first 25 minutes, with references to places and people we never see. So a DVR is a must while watching.
The plot starts to pick up after the first commercial break and then we're off to the races. The pace quickens and the tension builds up pretty well up until the end. Now, there is a twist at the end of the movie (pretty shocking actually) so make sure you watch all the way through. How you feel how about the twist will undoubtedly effect your thoughts on the movie as a whole. Did you buy it or not? That is the question.

No, seriously, what did I just watch? I like my crime thrillers smart and actually craftful with its twists and turns. But these so-called "twists and turns" are highly predictable and meant to shock an audience who, no offense, eithee has a low IQ or has ADHD. And, for the sake of skepticism, I sure hope it's the latter. Don't watch this trite, asinine garbage. Watch something better. Like Se7en.
Somebody dusted off a film made in 1998 and released it 15 years later.
It is entertaining, but it is definitely made for TV.
Amanda Schull is truly the only reason I finished the film.

The only good thing about this corny movie is the casting of Amanda Schull and Coby Ryan McLaughlin. Otherwise, it's campy, predictable, and written like someone's first screenplay after reading a William Goldman instructional book. Awful.

- GoofsDuring the first news report after the first murder of the movie, they misspell the name of the killer. Instead of saying Daedalus, on the Reuter at the bottom of the screen it reads Deadalus strikes again on the second time you see the newscaster reporting for HD6.
