Like many of us with Asian parents, 'Best Choice Ever' struck a chord with me. It portrays the familiar dynamic of strict, loving, and perhaps a tad greedy (let's be honest!) Asian parents through the relatable character of Mai Chenghuan. We root for Chenghuan as she navigates her overbearing mother's expectations, yearning for independence while acknowledging the deep love beneath the surface. The show's true beauty lies in its portrayal of self-growth. Chenghuan's journey isn't about defying her mother, but about discovering her own voice and carving a path to success on her terms. It's a testament to the power of self-empowerment, and the character development is truly heartwarming. By the end, you'll be cheering for Chenghuan as she finds not only professional fulfillment but also love that transcends cultural expectations. 'Best Choice Ever' is a delightful rom-com wrapped in a coming-of-age story, making it a must-watch for anyone who's ever felt misunderstood or yearned to break free while cherishing the love that binds them.

I am disappointed. This is a series about children and their mothers. No romance at all which is what I like in these shows. That being said, there is no chemistry between the two leads. They seem like great friends and not a couple in love. The lead actress's mother in the show is too whiny. Her brother looks like he's 12yrs old dating a 35 yr old. I am fast forwarding through a lot of it. I will see it through to the end since I've invested so much time watching already. The entire series is longgg and drawn out. Not sure what message they are trying to send but it's boring. The lead actress is very monotone. She has no expressions & is just blah. I'm sorry I started this series and will not be a show I recommend.

I think I fast forward through, at least 20 minutes worth of cringe per episode.
It wasn't fun... it wasn't the best choice ever. The whining Mom, I would've just shot her if she was my mother. The weak father, which seems to be every single Asian drama, the father is always the weak one, stepped on by the mother or pushed around or hit... ridiculous.
The writing was subpar, the acting was subpar, but you can only act with what you're given and they were given a not very good script. The main characters I've seen them another TV shows and I thoroughly enjoyed them... this one I could not even force myself to enjoy it.
I'm only four episodes in and I really don't wanna even finish it. That's how bad it is.
