Carrie Underwood is an American country singer. After winning the 4th season of American Idol in 2005, she became most well known for her songs, “Before He Cheats” and “The Champion.”

With Katy Perry’s departure to focus on her music career. Underwood has taken over. Though she is not getting paid nearly as much as Perry, she promises to be a judge who critiques with heart and integrity. Though, it has been hard saying “no” as she knows what it’s like to be in their position.

Additionally, Underwood is married to Canadian ice hockey center, Mike Fisher. The pair has two boys together, Isaiah and Jacob. It seems like Underwood has it all, but is insecure about her appearance.

Winters & Artyom Topilin.

To celebrate the release of Cruel Universe #1, Daily Dead recently caught up with writer Corinna Bechko to discuss her story "Solo Shift," including teaming up with artist Caitlin Yarsky to bring the story's claustrophobic scares to life, working with Oni Press editor-in-chief Sierra Hahn, and her excitement for her new graphic novel The Space Between, which she created with artist Danny Luckert.

The two most-watched streaming originals in the U.S. during the week of July 12-18 were Peacock’s “Love Island USA” Season 6 and Disney+’s “Descendants: The Rise of Red,” topping Luminate’s TV and film charts, respectively, with 1.1 billion minutes watched.

This was the second week at No. 1 for "Love Island." Season 6 viewership improved slightly from last week's 919 million minutes watched after the release of Episodes 28 through 33. "The Rise of Red" debuted on the the first day of this viewing window, giving it a full week to accrue its total.

In their first full weeks of availability on Netflix, Season 3 of "Vikings: Valhalla" was second-most-watched (1 billion minutes) and docuseries "Receiver" took third place (886.5 million minutes). The Champion, or El Campeon, is a new Spanish sports drama film on Netflix that follows the same old pattern of setting out to tell a grand football story and failing terribly by the end. The plot follows a young Spanish wonderkid, known as Diego, who faces a professional crisis at the moment because of his arrogance and hot-headed temperament. After getting banned from upcoming games, and with his job at a prestigious football club at stake, Diego has to go through sessions of psychological evaluation against his wishes. Unfortunately, the world of fictional football films is still quite outweighed by bad and superficial presentations, and The Champion is not too different either, even though it aims quite high.
